So, I have a question about checking market values in other regions - I'd like to be able to see the market orders for a specific region or station, often 10-15 jumps from that location. I don't want to use jump clones, as that would defeat what I am trying to do. Without saying too much, I'd like to be able to see markets away from my usual trade hub, and see what they're lacking. Then bring it to them at a mark-up, etc.

Is there a way to scan other markets, either in or out of game? I tried EVE-Central but it is not set up for that at all (I want general browsing of that market, I don't want to have to search every item individually in EVE-central). Is there something like this? Does anyone have a better idea? I'd prefer to not have to place an alt in the different regions, but I could if I have too. I'm looking for something simpler, however.

There's not websites like EVE Central too, like EVE Marketeer, but you'll still have to click a lot, even when simply browsing. If you are really serious about this, I'd reccommend using a second account for it, since then you can truly browse in parallel.

That said, you can also use the EMK profitable hauling page, which more or less shows you the information you was about to retrieve (but it's aimed more at items that are already there and selling for a lot more, instead of items that are not sold at all.

Unfortunately, it comes down to a game design imperative. They need some type of incentive for you to leave the station. If you don't want that, you need to make an alt. Making an alt encourages people to buy extra subs, thus more cash flow.

Of course, you could always find a group of people and set yourselves up as a shadowy galaxy-wide trade cartel.

This little text has had quite an interesting history. Even though the provisions of article 23 were originally introduced to protect the regional economies of known space, in the last decade or so these provisions have been fiercely defended by trading corporations of capsuleers, which are known to have been making billions of isk taking advantage of their superior knowledge of the markets and their ability to muster vessels capable of moving a significant amount of assets between regions with relative ease. In practice, some economists believe that article 23 is no longer filling its role of supporting regional economies, but rather that it creates artificial differences in markets which are exploited for great profit by those with the assets and abilities to do so. It is telling that the last known attempt to modify article 23 was in fact initiated by a consortium of small planetside corporations centred around Tash-Murkon (in Amarr space) and Raneilles (in Gallente space). However for some reason which was never disclosed the proposed amendment which would have relaxed the restrictions on the inter-regional sharing of information never made it to a vote as the shuttle transporting the delegates from Tash-Murkon to Yulai never reached the convention.

You send yourself a buddy invite, there was a deal on for sending 60 day trial buddy invites, not sure if it is still on. Buy one plex off the market, or sub the buddy account for one month. As a reward the account sending the buddy invite gets a few month or a PLEX. So it really costs you nothing. This is how I ended up with my fourth account. there was a special on to get 6 months sub for a new account at huge discount(believe it was 49.95 for 6 months)Plus I used the 60 day buddy invite to start the account. 8 months sub for 49.95 plus my main account got a PLEX $20 value. So I basically got an alt account for 8 months for 29.95, all things considered.

I currently have 4 active accounts with 4 active characters and use all the spare character slots for market alts. thats 8 untrained rookie toons(including this toon I am posting with) in the five major trade hubs and 3 other minor trade hubs. All of them in either an an alt corp or my mains corp. A couple of them I have spent a couple days training some market skills but nothing major. With Zero corp Tax rate I even occasionally use them to make purchases from the corp wallet if I find something really cheap I do not have time to pick up right away.

When the fourth account gets close to the 8 months I will choose whether to keep it active or sell the trained toon on the character bazzar before letting the account expire. Even cyno/hauler alts are worth a decent amount of isk. 8 months focused training can produce a character worth selling. might even use the isk from the sale to buy PLEX to keep the account going and continue to sell of the characters. A cyno alt with 1 months worth of skill points sells for more than a PLEX is worth, giving me a free market alt account and some extra profit.

Anyone know what system is best located for inter-region jumping with single character to do market price checks ?
