What race should I be?

I don't really like the character I chose Sad, so I'm trying to figure out which race I should choose.
I like:
  • Amarr - Lasers and History
  • Caldari - Missiles and EMP
  • Gallente - Drones and Abilities
  • Mimnitar - N/A

  • Any recommendations?

    you mean ECM

and what do you mean by "abilities"? lol

Just pick the race and blood line based on how you want a character to look and then train w/e want after that

Also Minmatar has speed and autocannons =D
What's not to like about autocannons?

What race you are does not matter (except to "role players"). Simply buy and train the skills to fly the other racial ships. You will not receive any penalties for doing so and can fly any ship, anywhere.

    Also, it's...

Amarr - laser weapons, armor tanks, "gank and tank" style combat.
Caldari - Missiles or guns, Ewar (ECM), shield tanks, "long range" style combat.
Gallente - Guns, drones, armor or shield tanks, "close range/facemelting" style combat.
Minmitar - Guns and/or missiles, above average speeds, armor or shield tanks, "skirmish" style combat.

I made the mistake of restarting my first char not knowing it does not matter. Not even faction you start off even across the board.
You lose about 1 day in skill training from starter skills and even than it is not a real lose as they are still there and you will most likely cross train at some point.

Don't let my frosty appearance and cold attitude fool you. Once you get to know me you'll find I'm a complete and total *

Have a look at the guides linked in my signature, one of them talks about race and how it (doesn't) matter.

Excellence is not a skill, it's an attitude.

Confirming race doesn't matter. All that it really gives you is some backstory grounding (if you care about that) and a small boost in skills regarding ships of that race. You can always just train another race, though. For example, I might be Minmatar, but I fly all ships up to battlecruiser size of all races. I like smaller ships and variety in what I can do, so that was my choice.

Dont' chose a race upon their "skills" as you just can train whatever skill you like (and you also should train skills you like and not those ur race tells you).
Enter the character editor and pick the race that allows you to build your char the way you like it. I'm an amarr, i'd like to have red hair - but no amarr redheads :(

agreed- the race you choose matters not. There is absolutely no benefit to starting a new character based on lackluster performance, your race and gender are meaningless other than for RP purposes really. Which side of FW is available maybe.

The holds true for racial ship types. While they are associated with a race- it actually doesn't matter. The racial types for ships in Eve might as well be name brands like Ford, Chevy, and Dodge. They have an associated 'theme' like missile bonus, various EWAR types, but that has nothing to do with the race of your toon.
So it's really not accurate to say that 'caldari are the missile race' in Eve, since that only applies to the ships which anyone can fly equally well (given equal skills). My toon is minmatar and I fly mostly amarr and caldari ships, use ECM and not target painters (as my race would suggest) and like lasers (pretty light show) over the 'minmatar weapon' of projectiles.

Starting a new toon is really just wasting whatever time you put into the one you have now.
