Goons are not trolls; in fact, trolling is against the Something Awful forum rules.

Hello, space friends!

I just wanted to make a thread for all of you—yes, even you!—to let you know that you are my very best space friend, and that I am so very happy to have met and known you. I know that a lot of times there are some very angry, bitter or contrary words that get spit out on these forums, and overall it can sometimes leave a negative impression. But that's okay, because then there comes a moment when you realize that Lyris has kittens, and that you have a space friend named Lyris, and that correspondingly everything is just fine in the world of tomorrow. Today in kitten news, Bojangles took a nap on my jumper which left it covered in shed hair for which I was thoroughly embarrassed to discover. What a silly cat! Mittens the kitten, whom is not to be confused for Mittens the CSM7 candidate, during a fit of energy toppled a floor lamp, became frightened by the crash, and hid inside my left boot. She is growing up swiftly, and recently we had her spayed at the veterinarian's office. My fiancée and I love our cats very much, and they are a great comfort whenever one of us is stressed about work or sad about people not knowing the good news that I am Lyris Nairn, space friend to all.

In closing, let's be friends! Oh, and vote for me for CSM7.

Hold on a second. how many of you neckbeards need to be in the CSM. You, mittans and Andski are trying your luck. Should we just change this game to Goons online

Also, what are you proposing for highsec

EDIT if you are posting as an attention whore then you know the rules. GTFO or sharpie in the pooper either one will do

They seem to be everywhere, I'm suprised as to how she has the time to even play EvE when you consider she has to try and keep up with all this fractured repeat posting of repetition everywhere.

Personally I just find the carpet bombing approach as annoying. Or maybe she didnt get the outcome in one of her threads and thinks that a fresh approach will radically conspire to totally change people's opinions from yesterday?

Yes, I can see why you'd think something like that. But allow me to offer an alternative explanation: I love to post, and I frequently have a few seconds or a couple of minutes of free time to slang some words. That's really the long and short of it. If you find it to be distressing then I am genuinely sorry that I have offended you.

If your time is limited then maybe keep to a singular post that is easier to control, allows for continuity and a complete picture of your stance and debate?

I will admit at least this thread is slightly more entertaining and hasn't really made many of the usual inaccurate baseless claims so far. But then other than it being a slightly more entertaining diversion (I'll give you that Blink ) it isnt really offering much relevance to candidacy either.

For someone who claims to love posting, you're not doing enough of it, I think. Not enough comments and posts on the oh, say, 5 most recent pages in GD belong to you. On one hand, it's a really good idea for you to stop attempting to entertain these forums with your post diarrhea. On the other, you should do what you love and do it while you can, as much as you can, to show that you are truly someone who holds true to their word. By this token, I suggest you up your efforts, or this discrepancy between your assertion of "I love to post" and the fact that you can still see other people's posts on these forums in between streaks of feces you leave behind will upset your bid for the CSM.

Also, I should point out to you that you left some comments here and there without a direct response. Unacceptable.

So far the people in discussion threads have proposed a few things that I intend to endorse. Here's an incomplete list:

  • Get rid of the period of time during which a POS is literally invulnerable;
  • Get rid of the dialog box and automatic deactivation of modules that occurs when using remote assistance modules on an entity which has received aggression from a new source, or make it an option to disable it;
  • Add to entities using remote assistance modules on an second entity with aggression a full aggression timer, which like any other aggression timer prohibits docking or activating star gates;
  • Proposal for the iteration of missions with the Incursion-style AI and functionality to provide group PVE content at all levels of missions so that people have an in game reason to work together, similar to instanced dungeons in traditional MMO games;
  • Proposal for the review of and alteration of Level 5 missions with regards to the proposed "Incursion-style missions," in the previous point, which would have a separate functionality;
  • Introduce an active module which "cloaks" the contents of a ship's cargo bay

And many others! In short, I want to take the proposals that my constituents wish to see iterated and present them to CCP.

I used to post very large and well-reasoned walls of text with the intention of addressing multiple points simultaneously, but this often resulted in people disregarding the entirety of the comments; moreover, I received several direct complaints about my manner of posting and suggestions that I instead switch to answering specific points with individual posts. That approach has served me well, so far.

seriously, stop associating goonswarm with /b/. they are almost polar opposites - on SomethingAwful, you *will get banned* for trolling. Good posts are the norm and are what is expected. TEST has a lot more trolls than the Goons, including the lord of all trolls, DurrHurrDurr, who is perpetually getting banned and unbanned after diplomatic negotiations from Goon comms / services. Like, multiple times a week.

Goonswarm's culture promotes good posting, and boy are they good at it when it comes to things like State of the Goonion. TEST actively encourages shitposting. We're pretty good at that, ourselves. Though if these forums are any indicator, most of EVE is at least proficient.

If you want to look for /b/ in EVE, I have heard (never firsthand) that PL has its roots in /v/, and Elite Space Guild / Broski Enterprises / whatever they call themselves now (White Tree's group of guys) are directly associated with 4chan.

On the other hand you didn't post a picture of a sharpie in your pooper so nothing you said matters. :colbert:

e: But yes what Akirei Scytale said is true. I remember getting probated on Something Awful my first week for making a post which included a modified version of the silly catchphrase, "I, for one, welcome our new X overlords".

The Mittani has gone on record for encouraging Threadnaughting to manipulate outcomes.

SA do however represent a good community especially their recognised charity work, that is cool.

But trying to pull the wool over the collective eyes of EvE players is not going to work. Everyone is fully aware of the rife propoganda Goonies and their minions represent.

Everything any major group says in EVE is propaganda. At least Goonswarm / TEST are good at it. Seriously, Little Bees is the whole reason I decided to give EVE another shot, and stuck around.

IMO once it gets filtered and shared with the general public, its propaganda. I kinda wish I could see all the crazy **** you guys say on your forums, TEST's are ridiculously hilarious themselves.
