I don't think that the Jove will do anything aggressive or hostile to others, for they were the ones who established Concord and the DED.

When you lease the Jove, you have to keep them until the lease expires or you won't get your deposit back.

Jove. I've been asking about that since I started this game. The answer to me seems to be this:

Quote:
Sure the Jove are coming. They are out there and they are Uber. Actually... that's bullshit. They are not Uber... they are not anything. They are something that is promised in the future for which no effort has been made since beta. Why would we work on releasing Jove? What would we promise for the future? One of the foundational principals of EvE marketing is promising the future! No. Officially, yah... 'they are out there and they are coming soon™'. Between the two of us... we don't care. We have enough on our plate before we worry about Jove. In the future we plan to have something else on our plate. Jove will never be on anyone's plate. Just read the f******* fan fiction and try not to think about it.

The above is a compilation of answers paraphrased from various articles and forum posts on the subject.

Enjoy.

You mean this Project Enigma?Blink

Well, if you ever read Templar One you will see that CONCORD has come to the same conclusion. That is still not a clear confirmation, though. The Jovians could be live and kicking just having decided to pull a bit back from the interplanetary ruckus.

But, I think it is much more likely that CCP has decided to put the Jove in a much more weakened position. And while the build up has been very slow (and unnoticeable by many) I think the EVE Story line is just about ready to have the Jove introduced (again).

In the spirit of having something completely new but still somewhat accessible to everybody I hope access to Jove Space will eventually only be through wormhole space, but still contain high security space on the Jove side of things (also Jove low/null sec, of course). Punishments will not be dealt with by CONCORD but some Jove constructed guard drones working under same mechanics. Another element could be no regular asteroid belts in Jove space making interesting trade opportunities.

Of course, these things are not all that Jove space should be about but it is a start.

The Jove are not going to be coming back any time soon I think. As Myyona said according to CONCORD in Templar One the Jove are extinct. Though later on in the book we do learn that's not quite true. One Jove affiliated character tells us there are still "the few of us who remain". But it is safe to say their numbers have dwindled significantly and it's just a matter of time until the end of them. Some possibilities are still open but I doubt they'll end up being used.

In this dark void we are like brilliant stars, holding within us both the creative and destructive power to bring a new dawn upon worlds or plunge them into eternal darkness.

if you want to see the jove. join the volunter program. they are in ccp alliance space. once you join up you are given a char and access to this space. perks of the job.

If they are extinct, once a way is found into their space, think of all the sweet, sweet tech waiting to be reverse engineered. Yum Could be a great pew-pew xpac

I think maybe they went physically extinct, but since they're so advanced, they transferred their consciousnesses into android bodies. Hard to have a genetic disease when you have no genes Big smile. The Grious Drone in Templar One was the first generation of that tech. That's my theory anyway

As for when we'll see them again, who knows.... Maybe the EVE gate will reopen but instead of greeting our Terran progenitors, we face off against an extremely powerful alien race (yeah I know, EVE doesn't have aliens but whatever lol) that the Jove would have to help out with when we're on the edge of defeat. Would make a cool months long event!

But I do agree with the OP, it would be interesting to have a few sightings here and there just to keep the myth alive. Big smile

Even though I enjoy the game totally and utterly i think it would be nice to see these guys pop up again.

reason are basically there seems to be that lil edge missing and that sense of "oh s£$t" "wtf was that" happening

I know sansha is there like meh
theres wars and there like meh

pvp fun but hmm

tourny YARRR

Its all myth etc but sightings in the early days were fun to hear about and read about

and watching a ccp char fly on singularity in a edilon doesnt quite match it

To me dusk is meh but im not a ps3 player

So please ccp give us a vid of somthing to tantilize us or even drop a couple about for somthing to read about

we know there out there somwhere and I dont think you have truly killed them off yet :)

IDEA, how about the devs (aka the Jove since their allaince is in jove space) just get into their T4/5 jove ships and go roaming around insta-pwning EVERY character they meet? hmm? start in nullsec and dont stop til every bastion of eve is bruned to the ground, right to the stock-posters in jita.

except for wormholes of course, we'd be safe, heck, we might even help the jove out.

Now, regarding Jove space... what if we could Invade their space? As the OP says, it's barbwire in the sandbox... why not allow us to try... they could make it impossible to invade with less than a cap fleet... and even a cap fleet would be nommed after a while, BUT, you could see and fight Jove ships, AND if you manage to kill one and loot/salvage before your fleet is destroyed, you get some nice T3 drops or something.

They're either all dead or so advanced they have no need to deal with us primitives.

IIRC, Jove was the race of the devs. The artwork for their ships was never updated, so it's very unlikely that we'll see them again.

Just give me a visitant and it's all gravy (shame on you CCP keeping the only flying saucer in the game to yourselves).

this would require ccp to add actual content. Their expansions add nothing but bug fixes and nerfs.

I have more space likes than you.
