Mining cruisers

CCP, when you're going over the t1 cruisers, you might want to look into the lack of a decent mining cruiser for the Amarr. The Arbitrator is a poor choice of the four mining cruisers with only two turret slots (the Vexor is a drone-based miner and with 4 turrets easily outstrips the arbi).

I was also thinking about the choice of the Gallente and Amarr mining ships in general; The Osprey and Scythe are the t1 cruiser logi for each race, and also get the mining bonus to lasers, yet the Gallente and Amarr don't follow the pattern. It might be worth looking at making the Exequror get a mining laser bonus instead of its cargo bonus, and remove the mining bonus from the Vexor's drones and just let it be a dedicated combat cruiser. The same could be done with the Augoror and Arbitrator on the Amarr side. Just a thought... I mean there is something to be said for variation between the races, but the osprey is considered the best mining cruiser, and I dislike cross-training through the races just to cherry pick the ships that work best in a given situation and avoid the crap ones (hoping to see this fixed in future, the Aurgoror sucks vacuum). Cool

Thing is, the Ex has it's cargo bonus to allow it to store cap charges to enable it to run remote armor reppers. I can see your point that a mining laser bonus would make it useful but usually cruisers used to mine are simply stepping stones for newer players to get into more advanced mining craft, if they decide that's what they wish to do in the game.

It would be useful for those new players to have a better cruiser to mine in, but eventually those players will either move on from mining to make isk and never do it much at all again or decide they want a Retriever, which isn't that difficult to attain skillwise. At least with the Vexor you get the combat bonus to drones as well as the mining bonus, which is usually never used once you're past a certain point in the game.
