High, budding miner here who is currently mining mass qualities of Scordite. At the moment, Scordite sells for about 14 ISK in Jita, while a compressed block has buyers at 2 million, and sellers at 6 million. If my calculations are correct, a single block of compressed Scordite gets 500k more than uncompressed. Am I missing something here, or is this free money?

Well, you can't compress in high-sec. That might have something to do with it.

Woo! CSM XI!

Transport costs have monetary value. It shouldn't be all that surprising.

No one in null sec wants to buy compressed scordite or any other compressed ore (Compressed ice being the exception). They will build T1 mods (like 425 railguns) in highsec and refine out in 0.0 for their mineral needs. Someone might think people would be interested in compressed scordite - so they're trying to fill a market niche. I suppose if someone didn't plan properly they might try to buy compressed ore in a pinch - but people who build titans or similar shouldn't be making mistakes like that.

You'd do well to ignore scordite and get yourself into a better money making situation (ideally out in 0.0 as a part of a space holding alliance).
