This is actually a really good point. If I were to support the removal of local for any reason it would be this. If CCP were to remove local then I would go on regular roams to hunt and kill bots as would many others.

Remove local in 0.0. Even just delay it a few minutes.

The players will do the rest.

Actually no, it's not a joke. Local is what many bots depend upon to determine if the people in system are friends or something else. WIthout local they can't do this except by use of Dscan which does not include adequate information to make a reliable determination of friend or foe. In a busy system it would result in false positives.

Without local the bots can't detect a threat in system as soon as it enters system giving them time to warp to SS and cloak or go offline or dockup.

That assumes the bots aren't using a haxed client that doesn't rely on the constraints of an intact client that the rest of us use. I've seen some rather interesting things about haxed eve clients floating around the net. But, CCP should be able to determine quite easily if a client connecting to tranquility if tampered with or even not of CCP's making.
