Greetings all,

I am about to leap into these two ships for some fun (first on SISI to blow them up alot and see what works and what doesn't) and I have been on the EFT with them for a bit, had a legion for a while for L4s and such but didnt do much beyond that with it.

For some reason the Proteus looks are in my blood as is the Loki, and I would like to see where to start - BC seem to be lacking in any really well thought out fits since our change in game (Cruicible - which I assume did affect the Proteus and to a less amount with our Projectiles ammo in the loki, as well as the T2 modules to some degree).

I would like some input on these two ships, I have often flown Amarr and Caldari for a good amount of time in EVE, but I can fit and fly the other two - in theory from alot of reading and SISI playing, but nothing in my opinion counts like first hand information form people that have perfected it to an art (or science) and so I would like some boosting of their shoulders to some interesting and fun builds to start my testing with... I generally like pew pew fits with some distinctive oddness to them, and most of the time I am solo, though there could be a non-corp gang sometimes of say 2-5 people around.

Thanks and do appreciate it.

The Loki is great in small gangs as a mix between a fast tackler, a Rapier, and a Hurricane, able to web out at 25km while dishing out ~550 dps and moving slightly slower than a Vaga. However, unlike the Tengu, it doesn't have its place in large fleets, (Rapiers/Huginns cover the webbing role better there) and I personally dislike it for solo use just because it has overall "meh" stats compared to other, cheaper things. (A nano Loki is somewhat more tankier than a Hurricane and slightly faster, but it costs about 7x as much)

The Proteus, on the other hand, can tank like a beast (200k ehp buffer tank) making it awesome for either solo or small gang with logi work, and can short-scram out to 16km which is kinda nice. It's slow and sort of bricky, though, so if you get beaten, it's unlikely that you can get away and save your shiny expensive t3, unlike the speedy Loki.

Neither one is really good for PvE, unless you're either using the Loki against sanshas or the Proteus against guristas/serps.

I guess it boils down to what you want to use them for.

well this may sound silly but cost is NO Option - I do all (most of my) PvP on SISI - so 100 ISK here and there but I love to do it, could you fit up some fits? I am playing around with them on there - IF I ever got confident enough or in a jam enough to need to PvP on TQ, then I am ready for the big time - (as I am now with AFs and HACs) which I perfect that art on SISI over 2011, now I am confident that any HAC or AF I fly I can do some damgae on TQ with and know what I am doing (several 10s or 100s of hulls later of course... and minus Commodor Johns DD's in combat areas...hehe).

Loki solo and Proteus with Logi fits pls and the Logi fit also if possible - that is another area of EVE I should get more into I hear for Insursions.

there are good fits for both on BC, look harder.
the blaster changes didnt affect proteus fitting at all on a normal pvp buffer fit, apart from letting you fit a high PG mwd and a faction plate.

proteus and loki are both excellet gang pvp ships.
they have no equal up close.
this is especially true in WHs.

I would if the PLEX price wasn't eating my toy allowance... Grrrr.... if ever it gets back to reality and I can acutally, I could actually afford a few toys on TQ... atm all the ISK goes to making more ISK for ttime. Cry

you have an alliance and you make that little ISK?
I earn nearly a billion ISK a day running FW missions in lowsec if I put my mind to it. >.>

??? Shocked - I am in an NPC corp.... no Alliance here, just me... maybe you mean someone else in the post, anyway, back the OT: Proteus and Loki fits for solo/small (and I mean really small non-corp fleet work) fits.

Proteus cloaky is best cloaky. i think it gets around 600dps. i would only fly it cloaky cuz it packs a decent punch while being able to choose targets.

Not trying to snipe your thread, so I will just post this much:

You should seriously consider joining a player corp. I think you will find it much more enjoyable and rewarding - more people to get a gang/help and there's the social aspect, of course.

OP, you need to be more specific with your requirements. T3 hulls in particular are so flexible that it makes more sense to create/think of a requirement and fit the ship around that rather than just create a "good pvp T3".

True, I have found some pdfs online and that seems to have been a good overall primer for the T3s... I got a good idea on the Proteus

Subs: Aug. Plating, Friction, Hybred, Power Core, Localized... Neutron IIs and Hammer Iis with light ECMs also as a start... not sure on the tank setup, ob. Armor, with the Holy-Trinity of MWD-AB/Scram/Web in the mids.

The Loki I am still a bit more in the dark on.

Choose the legion if you want covops T3. The legion has the BEST covops system ever, clearly more overpowered than the other 3.

Any one have a cloaky proteus pvp fit handy (no probe launcher needed)? At the moment ive no access to the resources needed to make one.
