hello,

I need a loan to fund a short station trading operation. I have way to many assets and not enough liquid isk at the moment. To make things as simple as possible I'm going to use two high value items for collateral.

loan lenth: 1 month, with the possibility of lender getting all principle and interest in less than a month.

interest: 4%

collateral: i have 2 revelations in low sec

This is a great opportunity to make a 4% isk on isk in less than a month FULLY COLLATERALIZED

please post on forum if you are interested

thank you

Imnsho, in this case the loan would be 100% collateralized.
Doesn't mean that the loan would, or even should, be equal to the collateral.

I'd go with a 60% market rate myself. Low enough to make him want to come back, low enough to facilitate liquidation.

yeah all you guys can go **** yourselves, im already over this loan idea.

85% of value is fair... and if you guys knew any better, you would realize that because dreads are not used, eventually they are getting a buff, so the last thing i would do is take less than 85% of the value.

dreads already got buffed big time (T2 siege mod) and the prices are much higher than they used to be (bought my first dread with capital mods and rigs for 1.2b just 10 months ago).

However, while it was hard to find a dread below 2b around Crucible release, we're now down to 1.8.

I can't say how much of the 1.8b is mineral prices and how much is hype, so I won't try commenting on that.

thats funny, because dreads where never at 2 billion on contracts before or after the crucible release, and i would know because i have way too many. when i say never, mean the lowest sell contract not the highest.

Ever read this article?

It explains why collateralized loans and insurance are not a simple thing and how depreciable collateral is valued very conservatively.

This holds even more true in the case of certain "unlucky" items and expecially in the period of the year when minerals are at yearly high and thus prone to tank hard any time.

[Teacher Mode: On]

Collateral that you don't mind losing is NOT collateral.
Collateral that you don't mind losing so much is NOT collateral.
Collateral that freaking hurts to lose IS collateral.

While a higher exchange rate is preferable to you, your comfort level is NOT any concern of ours. No one knows you, your collateral is mercurial in value, and it is inconveniently located. Those are the realities of the situation.

[Teacher Mode: Off]

Being a jerk about the whole affair is, again, NOT in your best interests. I totally understand that you don't want to do certain things, that is called negotiating the best deal for yourself while it is our job to get the best for ourselves. However being overtly hostile will not, contrary to "I'M A PIMP 101", going to work.

Is this for real? I find it increasingly hard to believe that there was a Kernel of anything here to begin with.

But, in the eventuality that you aren't, in fact, a poor troll, I say we keep this thread alive as a sort of warning to other sorry sods that can't grasp basic economics...rather, business ettiquette...

I take that back, fail OP is fail.

This thread is now speculation regarding whether or not he actually has a Dread to begin with.
