I can't get anti aliasing to work on my client. I have tried everything i can come up with, such as enabling/disabling windowed mode, HDR, using ATI's control panel to force AA, ect, nothing does it.

And today i decided to make a new character portrait, and now that portrait looks all jaggedy compared to other people's portraits. I guess the portraits are rendered on the client and uploaded to the server.

My system:
Intel i7-2640QM
8192 MB RAM
Radeon HD 6770M (2 GB)
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Thanks

EDIT: Also, my entire screen went black when i disabled anti-aliasing in captains quarters.

Have you tried turning off post processing? If you have AA turned on in game then don't force it as well, it causes some sort of conflict.

Also make sure that Catalyst AI is turned off in your control panel.

Your control panel setting should be.

AA - Use application settings
AF - Use application settings
Cat AI - un-ticked
Mipmap detail level - Quality *If graphics card can handle it.
Wait for vertical refresh - On unless application specifies
Anti aliasing mode - super sample AA *If graphics card can handle it.
Triple buffering - un-ticked

Do all of that and hopefully setting the AA in the game should work well.
AMD Catalyst driver version 11.3 seem to be Eve friendly.

Have you find a solution?

I currently have a similar problem with an nvidia GTX 560 Ti and seems there's nothing to do to make AA working.
A strange thing: AA works properly on pg model in CQ, but not on ships or structures models (including hangar objects) Shocked.

Anyone with same issue?

We have 2 different types of Anti-Aliasing in EVE, the first is MSAA which is used in the fly in space section of EVE. MSAA is a stronger effect and easier to see than FXAA which we use for Interior (Captains Quaters).

Further to this, when your character is created for the first time, the character information is sent to a server that applies advanced rendering techniques to get the best quality picture. This picture can take several hours to process and then it is sent back to your client to replace the one that you made.

Can you please test AA in space by turning it off, looking at the edges of the object then turn it back on. Please repeat this for interiors and then reply to this thread to let me know which AA system isn’t working for you.

Changing AA settings doesn't affect ships and structures edges.

Changing AA settings affects pg model edges but not CQ and hangar background.

Oh, I've disabled AA in nvidia control panel.

Well. googling around I've found this solution:

1) Download nvidiaInspector (Nvidia Inspector or search latest version) and start it.

2) Open Profile Settings windows clicking on tools icon, near Driver Version.

3) Select "EVE Online" from drop down menu and click "Apply Changes".

4) Restart EVE and set AA value.

Done. :)
Works for me, hope this helps.
