"Connection to the server was closed"

Since Crucible, I've been having a weird problem with logins. If the login screen comes up and I don't log in immediately (say within 30-60 seconds), whatever the reason, I get a notice saying that "The connection to the server was closed" and at that point, although there is a progress bar running under "Authenticating", nothing really happens and the client waits forever until I kill it and start again. There, it just happened while I wrote this post.
WTF?

Now I'm speculating here OK?

However the way the Eve auth servers work/worked(?) was that they'd hold the connection almost indefinitely before credentials were presented (login). This probably made it pretty trivial to "disrupt" the normal operation of the auth servers.

Now if you don't login within a minute or so then the auth server drops the connection.

Only issue really is that the client should restart rather than try to auth on a closed connection. Edit - ah, a moment of thought makes me think the preferred action should be to drop connection and close (not restart) the client.
