nullsec is ONLY safer if you are in a large corp or alliance.

FC, what do?

If you lived as carefully in Highsec as we do in nullse you'd be a hundred times safer....read my post on page 3 about it.

It is your own lazyness and to some extend stupidity that makes you lose ships in Highsec.

Hey, let's not forget CONCORD!

There's nothing lazy or stupid about getting CONCORDOKKENED!

Unless, that is, your gank failed...

Even then it is not safer.

If we were living as careless and risky as the highsecdwellers did we'd die a hundred times over regardless of the alliance. (But if we did we'd get booted from the alliance soon anyway)

You're a horrible troll dude. Yes, areas of deklein can become 'safe' but only so long as every person does their part to allow everything to operate as it should from logistics to intel to defense fleets, whereas in highsec you sit on your lazy ass and concord protects without having to do anything (except, of course, for our recent efforts to change this by importing a threat...)

CONCORD isn't there to keep you from getting blown up, but rather to blow up the one who makes transgression against you. Thus, hisec is still no safer than nulsec.

Don't worry, people get confused by this fact all the time.

Ok, I told myself I wouldn't post but seeing so many opinions not backed by facts it's driving me crazy. High sec is safer and here is why. I took a look at ship/pod kills in the last hour through the API. Broken down by security zone;

High Sec - 531 Ship kills, 22 pod kills, 223,864 jumps
Low Sec - 197 Ship kills, 40 pod kills, 12,081 jumps
Null Sec - 278 Ship Kills, 104 pod kills, 29,519 jumps

Straight up based on kills it's in the OP's favor. But you need to balance it with traffic. Based on kills to jumps ratio high sec is a much safer place;

High Sec - 0.237 Kill% , 0.010 Pod%
Low Sec - 1.631 Kill%, 0.331 Pod%
Null Sec - 0.942 Kill%, 0.352 Pod%

Cold numbers don't lie. I'm less likely to get blown up in high sec. Low sec is seems the most dangerous. Individual circumstances vary based on alliance and social conditions but the general situation favors hi-sec.

To add, there is a major fallacy in thinking 0.0 is safer because it's less populated. Suicide gankers are in hi-sec because that's where the targets are. If those targets went to 0.0 then so would the gankers. It's like the old joke about why rob banks; because that's where the money is.

As for feelings, I prefer to be safe as opposed to feeling safe.
