Nope, just a normal frigate setup with mixed t1 and t2 modules, worth around 25 mil. Only bling-esque stuff was the faction ammo worth around 2mil.

Nothing new or exciting to report here. Been playing since mid-December, and decided a few days ago to biomass my carebear toons and start completely over in a life of crime, mischief, and mayhem. I've always wanted to post something in this thread. Hopefully this will be the first of many.

I've killed a few scouting pods in low-sec, but I'm happy to report my first official kill: a Retriever gank. Pirate

So i am hanging around low sec jumping systems in an attempt to find my first solo kill. A previous attempt a couple of nights ago had not ended well as i tried engaging ships and pilots far superior for my baby skills to attempt.

Not to be disheartened i strapped in to the pod released the docking clamps and set out.

I quickly had a tristan and merlin on d-scan and further narrowed them down to a set of belts. Warping of to a belt watch safe i then discovered they were together in the same belt

Hmm

I left it a few seconds but no capsule popped up but a rat wreck did...so ratting together??

They either were not concerned for a two week old pilot being on scan or in fact were not even looking. So i warped to 50 to see what was going on and whether this was a possibility.

I landed and..and...they warped off, damn.

This continued for another 10 to 15 minutes a couple of times i landed i tried to draw the Merln away from the tristan but this was not happening.

Eventually i landed slap bang in the middle of them. Locked the Merlin

tbh ive been playing since 2004, 2010 on salty and i still feel this way everytime i get a solo kill. gj =]

I'm currently experimenting barge-suicide ganking and how to make a profit with it.

Some miners were talking about it in my system, while I was busy doing something else on another account :

Remember kids, bragging about your (somewhat) (expected) expensive pod is not a wise thing to do with -10s in local.

I fear now for my own pods. Cry

Inspired by this ridiculously awesome thread, I have birthed a new clone and taken up a life of vicious piracy. And.. just a week out of the vats, I got my first solo kill Pirate yarrrrrr

Flying around in my Executioner in Siseide, I scanned down a Thrasher at an FW point and warped his way. Activated the gate and moments later landed 10k off him. He was in close orbit with an NPC rat. As I locked and dropped my disrupter and jam on him my carotids pulsed and eyes widened. Been playing for 10 years and never have I shot first at another person -- this is what folks on this thread are talking about!

I took a scrape of shield damage on the way in, but I pulled into a close orbit and began working through his shields, then his armor. My jammer must have worked after his first volley because now he wasn't firing. But just as the last chips of his armor flaked away under my pulse lasers, I took a massive hit of damage, then another -- and I was in armor too. My jam must have dropped. On went my rep.

I realized he was pulling away out of my tight orbit and into his range. I CAME PREPARED, though, and switched crystals from Multifreq to Radio. The fight was for real now; I was repping his damage but losing that battle; his structure was melting but slower than usual under my Radios.

Then, just as my armor dipped to 5%, his ship popped! I was too relieved/excited to nab the pod.

Thanks loot gods for the nice drop, thanks CONCORD for the 100k isk bounty prize, and thanks to the Archangels for helping me out there and not firing on me afterwardsWhat?

Now, I wonder if this guy was just giving me a fighting chance or something, or if my jammer really was working. It felt way too easy until he was in structure. But hey, if he was trying to give me a chance, he gambled too much and got egg on his face.

What does C&P think? Did my jammer really work that well, was it just an inexperienced PVEer, or did I get quasi-trolled?

He was not PvP fit (well not solo anyway) and looked like he'd been ratting for a while. But who cares! Do you mean ECM? If you landed an ECM cycle on him he would not have been able to lock you. The rats might have been hitting you too.

Check your combat log after the fight - it will tell all.

I have been posting stories up for years about our ambush activities in wormholes. I've been told some of the tales are very entertaining. Our small gang has shot at most anything that's moved in a wormhole, including a Rorqual and a few Carriers.

Let me know what your favorite headlines are on our Mishaps page. It goes all the way back to Christmas of 2009 when myself and an associate moved into a wormhole without having the faintest idea of how to PVP. Well, several years have passed, and we still have no idea how to PVP. We do, however, enjoy the fine art of a small gang ambush.

Maybe you've received a 177th Hurt Feelings Report if you took our meaning the wrong way. Most of the folks we encounter are good sports, and this is duly noted in the Mishaps log. Some of those victims even joined our crew.

Always remember, in space, nobody can hear you disconnect.

So I am roaming in lowsec looking for something to fight. I warp to a belt and hit descan 360. A Mackinaw comes up. I warp to the next belt and long the way adjust scan to 5 degrees. Nothing in that belt but no rats so I can scan each nearby belt. 3rd belt has a hit for the Mackinaw. I land 15km from the Mackinaw. Being as I have AB fit I figured not going to happen, but let us try. I get to scram range, and let her rip. Seems miner was afk and not aligned. I got the kill, looted the wreck and then on my way out discover exactly how good the loot was.

I don't get much play time so I'm pretty bad at this whole piracy thing but I finally have a story worth putting in this thread...well maybe not, I'll let you decide.

I'm roaming through my corp's favorite stomping ground, looking for trouble when I spot a barge on D. There's a 1 month noob in system so its either him or bait but I'm all in either way. Who doesn't love a good trap? I land about 20km out and curse by ab as I overheat it. I'm almost in point range when he warps off. Awesome! It's the noob! I assume he docked up, it would be the smart move. I should've bet on stupid. Checking the station while trash talking in local gave the other residents enough time to find him just before I did. I land on grid to find a pod and a sfi warping out. But then...the pod...stays put. He's too busy crying in local to notice me sneaking up for the ol' reach around.

I've noticed. I'm a few pods in now and never having dealt with the navy before suffered an embarrassing loss while buying a cruiser. I do have a hauler alt, so maybe I'll just go for it. Pirate

Read the thread, figured it would be a fun way to play this exciting new game.
Fit a crappy ship I can afford to loose (as I have no iskies) and flew out to all the local belts! (I had heard of this art call, "Can Flipping")

...there were no cans... ANYWHERE... collected 10 free mining drones...

Almost tried to gank a venture, but couldn't figure out the needed DPS to 'time till concorded' to get the KM... figured I'd go for it anyway, he had a 3m bounty! That would buy this ship 4 times over! ...and then realized I fit a web, not a warp disrupter.

on the whole, a shameful first jump into piracy... but free mining drones Ugh

So a guy in local asked if he should go into a WH...I said yes and offered to join him if he fleeted me.
