My entire appdata game folder ruined, I lost EVERYTHING. Placements of all my UI, all my settings, every ... .... thing I've worked on for months to make my eve experience perfect. Maybe you should check your own ... .... installer pages and realize you forgot to tell people how to PROPERLY INSTALL the test server.

http://www.eveonline.com/download/?s=singularity <- This FAILS SO HARD IT'S STUPID.
Information you FORGOT TO ADD: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Singularity

There is no way to express how angry I am with you're inability to be smart. You copied the installer for Tranquility and called it Singularity. Without changing even one single byte of data. You call it a Singularity installer yet it's not. On top of that, you FAILED to mention you can avoid downloading the game a 2nd time and just change one ... .... kilobyte worth of data, to connect to the test server.

On top of this, I found out the test server is USELESS.

All it is, is a second eve client connecting to a usually empty server where everything is JUST AS EXPENSIVE as the normal server. So testing .... takes just as long. I can't just give myself a titan and test one thing, no I gotta wait 10 years to test because the test server isn't what everyone said.

You cant just connect to sisi from the normal client as new expansions or changes to coding may require client launcher changes not to mention all of individual files constantly being replaced and changed that wont work with live files. (New UI, shaders, ships, or just item names and so on)
It will always need a duplicate of the game for the test client.

The only thing I agree with is that CCP should only have sisi launcher provided in the wiki rather than the main site which causes confusion and frustration when it has an improper amount of info provided in how to use the latest client provided. As the launcher may not be enough.

On the bright site, if you remembered how you like it, it shouldn't take nearly as many months to re-create that perfect set-up now will it.

It's your own damn fault for not backing everything up like a sane person. And it sounds like you installed everything in your normal EVE folder. Which the installer explicitly tells you not to do.

This was entirely your fault. Please stop using these forums to vent about problems that stem from you, and only you, and trying to make them problems that are "someone else's".

I have memory loss, it would take me ages to remember the 30 saved overviews and most which I will never remember.

No, backing up should NOT have been an issue. Here is an example of why:
What if I am not very good with computers, and do not know what AppData is? How would I know to back up these CRITICAL GAME FILES that store all your data, because CCP is to stupid to store the data somewhere normal people would normally look to back things up to? What if I didn't know that
C:\Users\Vas\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_(x86)_ccp_eve_tranquility\
existed? I do know, but I seriously though CCP was smart enough to make a second installer function by not using the SAME appdata location but it turns out I was wrong. CCP is not smart enough to do something like that.

By the way. C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE2\eve.exe <- Yea, I totally installed EVE Tranquility to EVE's default location. Cause EVE's default is totally EVE2 right? *sarcasm*

You should stop acting like they owe you something. They really don't. You pay for the right to play. And when it comes to SiSi, it is always fked up because... because that's a test server. Get a life (play on tq) and stop complaining.

I was angry that I had lost everything because CCP did not explain how to connect to the singularity server on the singularity download page. I will spend a month or 2 getting everything back to normal, and back up my appdata eve folder to prevent it again from happening.

CCP needs to make sure this doesn't happen again by removiing the page for downloading Singularity and replacing it with
http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Singularity
This will prevent the problem ever again and keep people from downloading an entire 6 gigs all over again.

Either remove the download page or add the "Or do this *LINK* to install the game without downloading 6 more gigs" and "You also need to add ' /server:Singularity' to your shortcut, not doing this will delete all user saved settings on default client."

CCP should lock this topic to prevent further trolls from posting.

This discussion is getting nowhere; besides, the original post clearly qualifies as a rant. Sorry, OP. Thread locked.
