What if there was a footprint magnifier module which made your ship appear as if it were a larger class ship? So, a frig could look like a cruiser, a cruiser could look like a BC, a BS could look like a cap.

This effect would apply only to "sensors", ie. overview and scans - visually, your ship would remain the same.

The effect could work like ECM - ie. with a percentage chance to succeed or fail each cycle. And, there could be a new skill which improves your chance of success per level trained.

And, how about creating mimic drones, which appear to be ships (again, only on overview or to scans)? Small drones appear to be frigates, medium drones appear to be cruisers, and large drones appear to be BC/BS ships. The drone "ships" could have randomly generated player names, and belong to the same corp/alliance as the owner.

This would allow solo players to look like small gangs, and allow small gangs to look like fleets.... lol.
