WHY the majority doesn't vote for CSM

The majority of players are convinced CCP will do nothing to address anything they consider in need of attention. The majority believes, as they do with real life institutions, that CCP has already established the limits they'll allow from player input. CCP revels in the thought that the majority believes there is some real player input that is significant to the majority of players, but beyond that belief, has no intention of doing anything but pretend the majority never said anything at all.

The CSM, however, specializes in advocating what CCP already agrees with. They simply push for a fine-tuning of matters the majority of players don't even deal with at all. This serves two functions for CCP. a.) It allows them to claim they listen to player input. b.) It frees them from having to listen to the majority - period.

The majority of players will NEVER vote for CSM since the CSM does nothing that affects the majority but ensure nothing is done with regard to the majority, and since that's the way things normally are, it's a wash. The majority does, however, agree in whole that the CSM is a joke, but it's the kind of joke the majority is accustomed to...not funny, and totally irrelevant.

SO....

Vote for me for CSM. I can booty-kiss and sling BS with the best of them!

No...

The majority don't vote because they think the game is just fine the way it is and they really don't care about yet another event put on by CCP that is meaningless to them.

No...the majority does NOT think everything's just fine the way it is. The majority just deals with things as they are knowing it's futile to say anything.

What each CSM member stands for should be more apparent to voters.
Under each candidate in the voting process, there should be a very little phrase which gives a rough indication of what the CSM member represents.
For example:
'Wants more highsec iteration'
or
'Death2allsupercaps'
or
'Wants WiS'
or
'Mining/Industry development'
etc.

I wasn't talking about forum dweebs. I was talking about the people who actually play the game.

Try making a new character and spending some time in corp chat. These guys are, for the most part, having a blast. Your problem is you are bogged down with the idea that the no-lifes that spend their days here instead of enjoying the game are somehow representative of the EVE population in general.

That's not the case.

The majority of players don't vote because the majority either don't frequent the forums do not have a good grasp of the english language are not informed directly by CCP why they should vote for the CSM or don't know who any of the candidates are and of course some just don't care.

I personally think their are too many candidates too as noone with a passing interest will look up all of them.

I suspect the major factors are either not understanding what the CSM does or already being cynical about the CSM as a result of past dissappointments with the CSM. There is also a good number of folks that see it as free vacations in Iceland for the most popular insiders of Eve.

Another factor is most discussion about the CSM is here in the forums and no one in Eve ever spends any time in here.

I thought the reason they don't vote is they don't know/care about the CSM.

When I was in NC I voted for a Morsus Mihi Rep
When I was in the South I voted for a rep in -A- and I was at war with them at the time.

I'm in High sec now. I don't vote there because I just don't give a ****.

The majority of people don't vote because of laziness and apathy.

Besides, if the CSM doesn't do anything, then there's nothing to complain about.
If the CSM does stupid things, CCP doesn't have to listen.
If the CSM does smart things, CCP doesn't have to listen.
If the CSM does something smart and CCP listens, then hey.
If the CSM does something stupid and CCP listens, I mean come on they probably didn't need the CSM for that one. :CCP:

I just don't see the problem. My only issue is that alts get a vote, but I highly doubt CCP has a tool to prevent that.

I guess you fail to realize, the CSM doesn't do anything for anyone but themselves and their cronies...which includes CCP. Apathy? No. For the reasons stated in the OP. Your response is the CSM's view. It sells the majority way short with pejorative language.

Vote for me for CSM. I can do nothing and not feel guilty about it!

well i dont vote, because quite frankly i am not that smart to know what is best for the game in general ..

I leave it to people with visions Big smile

And i dont really rage about any change, since it does not infulence my gameplay in slightest way.. i just adapt..
If they radically change gameplay...than i would probably quit.. .so far nothing like that happened..

The real answer is that they've been waiting for the opportunity to vote for me.

The only end-game content in EVE Online is the crap that makes you rage quit.
