As title reads... I need some but that's not the issue. I want to know where it all is. Jita is almost empty of Plat

This also happened to Atomspheric gases last week. I actually haven't been back to Jita to see if it actually ran out or not, though.

Might be related to the increase in fuel costs with Crucible, paired with the fact that people are too lazy to set up their own POCO/PI infrastructure to fuel their POSes.

If fuel prices are going up I would expect to see the price of Platinum go up as well not vanish off the markets

I converted all of my moon goo into ISK, what's the problem?

I have a special robot in my hangar that feeds on platinum and last week was his birthday.

Sorry about that.

Just your average manipulation attempt.

Just wish manipulators would learn that moon goo is the worst thing to manipulate with. The only buyers of moon goo are spreadsheet-warrioring reaction tower runners that start retooling their lines the moment their spreadsheet says their profits are down for the specific reaction for too long.

These guys also usually keep 2-4 weeks of material buffers (minimum) so you won't get them to buy the overpriced goo unless you somehow can keep the manipulation going for many weeks while buy volume is tanked. Generally this just doesn't happen unless there is a huge cartel to control the sell price or you somehow can keep dumping billions into controlling buy orders and vacuuming up all the supply.

So... a few unprepared tower operators buy a bit of overpriced platinum for a few days, then the price is back close to normal. Seen many times with various moon goo materials and even tried myself with one R32 once - did make a small profit but the profit wasn't worth the effort as it just wasn't possible to keep the price elevated as almost nobody bought at the new sell price and the buy order price elevated only to around the price point of the previous sell order level (10-15%) - at which point there was ample supply hitting buy orders and sell orders were just not touched by anyone.

It will probably be back to normal by Monday. Many moon miners empty their silos and dump it to Jita over the weekend.

This is actually probably a very accurate answer.

BTW: Happy birthday to the cute and cuddly bot.

...and plat is diving back to normal price. This never works on moon goo... I wonder why people still try.
