Do you have any specific suggestions for iterating Low Security space? I want to hear them!

Hello space friends,

My name is Lyris Chronicles of Narnia in the World of Tomorrow's Goonfleet dot Com; intrepid Sky Captain of Your Hearts; the Pubbie Whisperer; Spacebook superstar and Goodposter Extraordinaire, and I am here today in a brief respite in my unending war against the Dread Pirate Captain Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Spiced Rum to ask you, fair denizens of Forums dot EVE Online dot Com zug zug See and Pee, a very important question: "What are you wearing?" It's a quarter after one, I'm a little drunk and I need you, gentle pub lords, to tell me what you think can be done to make Amamake the new EC-P8R or Motsu. I need a hero, a master of wordsmithing and speechcraft to jump in front of me and save me from taking an arrow to the knee so that I may continue to type this post, and gather herein all the good ideas that have been composed hitherto for the advancement and iteration of the Low Security space in EVE Online, the popular space themed MMO produced by CCP, hf.

Whether or not you support my campaign for the CSM, I hope that good suggestions can be consolidated into this thread so that whomever shall be elected to the CSM to represent zug zug See and Pee will have a concise and coherent list of ideas that can be suggested and advocated. Please note that this list is completely independent of the "Lyris Nairn 2012" campaign for CSM, and that I fully expect every who's not me to speak up about how much they hate me; but, in the same vein, I hope this compendium will prove useful to the 2912 CSM candidates elected to represent the interests of all intrepid space pilots.

This is an amazing goodpost.

To help the poor gatecampers in low sec (who fight hard to keep the carebears out of low sec by blowing them up), they should be allowed to put bubbles down. As bubbles are clearly passive and sit there just distrupting warp, they should be considered a purely defensive measure by gate guns. This is because bubbles are used to stop criminals from escaping into hisec, as well as to ensure people pay their taxes/tolls and also do not evade customs inspections by the faction police/ gate guns.

I hope campers of low to null sec gates can share with our friends in low sec how to best use bubbles in such an eventuality. Just be careful when you come in to learn, as you might experience a bubble first hand. Keep your clone upgraded so that what you learn is not lost in the probable case that you get podded.

^^ This suggestion has some major merit.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

One thing I had thought would be cool is if you could throw your lot in with the local NPC pirates, and whenever you kill another player you get a certain percentage of the platinum insurance value of the victim in ISK - courtesy of your pirate overlords Cool Getting paid just for sewing chaos would be loads of fun.

... and lower GCC to 5 minutes, 15 minutes is WAY too prohibitive.

Yo do realize that bubbles are really the only thing that makes NPC space different from low sec. Keep bubble mechanics the way they are so there is variety.

Agreed. 15 minutes is ridiculous considering that a ceptor has a 50/50 chance of getting popped going through a low sec gate with GCC. Seriously CCP?!? Or maybe you could just unF*** the gate guns...

I would suggest changing the gate gun mechanics so they don't hit frigs like the hand of god.

Can you look past the fact that I fly with a "null blob," and see that within that blob I fly a Rifter?

And that I lead blobs of Rifters?

Low sec needs one of two things IMO

Faction warfare complete rework, and include some pie factions. Some sort of mechanic to allow FW to MEAN something. Some way for the FWarriors to hire pies as privateers. Some reason to lure people to populate lowsec for pies to prey on.

OR
A new "feature" something unique to brosec. I don' t like this one so much, as it means CCP have to be :awesome:...

And a sudden plunge in the sullen swell. Ten fathoms deep on the road to hell.

My platform for the CSM is a single promise: that I will serve as a passionate advocate for the desires express by the People in the discussion threads that I start and in which I participate. I have no intention of embracing the same old Politics as Usual, of making a lot of promises that neither I nor anyone in my position can legitimately keep. I will go to Iceland, and I will represent to the best of my ability the wishes of the constituency.

I haven't seen anyone mention this, but, why do stargate jumps necessarily have to be point to point? Would it break the game if the arrival location in a solar system was determined randomly?
