I'd like to be able to pick a time ideally in my locale time and have it translated to GMT, and then presented as a link that pops up your time breakdown tool that breaks down the number of months, days, hours, second until when people mouse over or click on that link.

FYI I'm a 10 year Freelance ASP.NET INFOSYSTEM/CMS/UI designer, I could go on for hours about how you could make EVE gate more functionally useful, CCP contact me if you're interested

Personally I just keep one of my clocks in the Windows task bar set to GMT so it's easy to see what time it is there. I'm not sure if you're looking for something like that (where it just shows the current time in GMT) or if you're looking for something that will translate any time in your time zone to GMT.

The bigger thing is that I'm not seeing anything that actually needs to be added to Eve, it seems like all of that could be done from a website in the browser (which would be slower for you, but it wouldn't take dev time away from the rest of Eve, which seems more important). Maybe I'm missing a key part of what you're looking for, but it seems like this falls into the category of "I don't feel like doing the math myself".

Yes, it's an aide to make it easier to calculate and make it easier to talk about time across time zones - this is a game that spans the globe and requires the coordination of a large group of people, why not add tools to make that easier?

"I don't feel like doing the math myself" is a slippery slope, typically graphical UI's are created to assist rapid decision making.
