How do Storyline mish spawn ?

Am trying to help a friend of mine, that is new to EVE. As I am no expect on mish in HS, I tried to search the issue with no luck, and now making this post, to hopeful get some help :)


If he is doing mish for corp A, is he more likely to get storyline mish for that corp OR the closest storyline agent? Or is there some another way that the corp for the storyline is detemined?


Hope you can help, as he really wants his jump clones ASAP :D

you get a storyline mission after 16 normal missions. But you need to do the same level mission for the same faction 16 times.

so you need to do 16 times L2 or 16 times L4 for the same faction.

Sorry - seems I was not clear enough.

After done 16 mish for the same agent, for corp A :
Is there a bigger chance for getting a storyline from corp A or closest storyline agent or just random corp ?

How is the storyline's corp detemined?

The storyline mission recieved is always from the closest storyline agent of the same level and faction regardless of corp.

Also if your mission was in high-sec then the storyline agent will also be in high-sec (though couriors may have low-sec components to them).

If you recieve multiple storylines without accepting the previous ones then they will be offered by the second closest storyline agent and so on.

Edit: Thanks guys- never noticed that storyline agents didn't have levels before. Thats what comes from missioning in an out-of-the-way place for too long!

Always the closest Storyline agent, no matter corporation or level.

You can compensate for this by doing 15 level ‘X’ missions for corporation ‘A’ belonging to faction ‘O’ and then do 1 level ‘X’ mission for corporation ‘B’ belonging to faction ‘O’ where the agent for corporation ‘B’ is close to a Storyline agent of corporation ‘A’. Mission types (Encounter, Courier and Mining) are irrelevant.

He insists on doing mish for caldari navy. So he is looking for a good lvl 4 CN agent, that has a CN storyline agent as closest storyline agent, and as low as sec rating as possible ?

(Best way of doing if I understand correct)

This, with one amendment: storyline agents don't have levels, they all hand out storylines of the appropriate level based on your mission string.

Also remember that each sory line gives a % faction standing increase of the storyline and a -% of the opposite faction.

Best is to find a system that has the faction and an opposite faction so you can do a zig zag of missions/storyline
