let's bring back the old Aura voice while we're at it....

I remember these from my first trial, years and years ago. Now *they* sounded like you were being blasted twenty light years across the galaxy. Bring them back!

Wow, I'm a new enough player that I never saw these, just like I never saw things before the nano nerf. The more you know!(tm)

So, perspective from a newer person who is hearing these for the first time. Louder is better, and the first couple of jump noises sound awesome. However, the fact that there is an audible half-tone scale in the last couple of snippets is really jarring and would just make me turn Eve sound off. Stargates are not musical instruments and should not sound as such.

That said, I would love to see something like these implemented. I say something like these rather than exactly them, because there is something about the effects that makes them sound dated. I can't put my finger on what exactly, but they sound like something you would hear out of one of the old Descent games or Freespace rather than something coming from the modern Eve I know.

What would be great is if CCP would return the old stargate sounds, but they would only be used when you are in a PvP situation; such as fleet fights, gang fights or only being used on null gates. Furthermore, making the stargate effects like in the Dominion expansion would really be heart pumping, preparing you for the upcoming carnage.

Its not the quality of the sounds, but the character they had. If they reintroduced hi res versions of these, it would be awesome.

Dang, I really miss those.
