Texture issues with exporting Noctis model

Firstly, don't kill me if this is in the wrong section, you don't seem to have an arts section. But this is relating to Tri Exporter, so close enough I reckon.

(Now if you don't understand what I'm saying, that means you can't help, this is directed at people who have exported EVE ship models and got them working for a nice render)

More to the point, I've been wanting some snazzy background for my computer. Though with the lack of one readily available on the net, I sought to make them myself. I found this: http://jilocasin.de/web/archives/20 tutorial which directed me through making a nice wallpaper of the Macherial and Drake.

Then I moved onto making a nice one of the Noctis. Though I started noticing it's textures were done differently. For starters, I couldn't find a specular map, which is odd since the Noctis has a very noticeable shine. Secondly, the red and orange stripes aren't on the base diffuse texture. They seemed to be layered on top with an alpha mask, which puts them in the right places, but I can't seem to find a layer extracted from the textures that add the colours to them.

People who probably know how to do this hopefully know of the process in GIMP you use to make the textures from the ones you unstuff from Tri Exporter, and how to apply them in Blender or another 3d software, though with my limited knowledge in terms of textures, only that provided in the tutorial, I can only get the ship looking like this: http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/199/noctistest.png

Is there anyone with experience in this that knows a way of getting the Noctis model textured properly?

Hello Rutherford,

Let me see if I got your question right :

1- the diffuse standard map looks like this : Noctis diffuse

2- but applying one of the other texture available we manage to get this : Noctis with what seams to be a spec or mask map

3- we notice that the blue channel should be yellow/gold and the pink one should be brown/red like in this ingame shot

Your question is "how do I mix those textures to get the ingame result" ?

Well, I'm afraid you're not the only one scratching your head over that one.... I'm still working on it with no luck this far Sad.

Let us know if you get something close, there is quite a "community" interested in that matter.

Cheers
