Hi. I am running level 3 missions. Is it more time/cost effcient to simply plough through them witout salvaging with my Catalyst?

Thanks

Noctis can be another matter, due to the extended reach and speed of the tractors.

if you wanne make isk then I would say salvage, salvage and salvage all your missions. Refine the Loot and then either make rigs with salvage or sell everything. 100 isk is stikk 100 isk.

Yes it will take longer to do a missions and if you have only 1 account then it can take longer. If you have a 2nd accoung with a noctis it will go faster.

if you are doing missions pure for standing then I would say blizz them as much as you can, loot only what is in reach of the ship and you are done.

Yes, but getting those 100 isk takes time. Time is money. You could spend that time to make 1000 ISK in the next mission. Considering that alternative, you didn't gain 100 ISK, you lost 900 ISK.

My plan was to blitz lvl 3s to get some quick isk. Then I did - My Sweet Privateer - may the good Lord have mercy on me when I start lvl 4s.Cry

Most salvage is worth nothing even in Level 4s to waste your time salvaging useless 3s would be bad financial advise. Blitz blitz blitz money is in bounties and rewards. Salvage sucks, the only thing I salvage anymore are Faction rats.

As the dude up there said "Time is money"

Simple as that :)

Well, in a Catalyst you're pretty severely undershipped for even level 3 missions. Most people use battlecruisers for 3's and battleships for 4's. You've got guts for trying, though :)

Umm. He's salvaging in the Catalyst. Good god I'd hope not also running in the same ship.

If you are in a mission hub you could look to see if they have salvaging services. I hear sometimes you can bookmark the Anom and drop it off and you get at least some money out of it for minimal effort.

Personally I have gotten 8-10 armor plates frequently in a single level 4.

I find salvaging entire L4 missions the amount of high end salvage generally adds up to at least half what I made on the whole mission.

Salvaging can be boring though. I usually use 3 of my 4 accounts when running L4's. It is major over kill but they go really fast. I use 1 BS set up for max DPS against BS's and usually a BC set up for taking out everything smaller than a BS.

Maelstrom with 1400mm artty II's, Drake with heavy missiles for BC and cruisers and 10 warrior II's between the two ships for mopping up frigates. the third account is in a noctis 1 room behind the other two.

I generally finish and fully loot/salvage L4's within 30-45 mins. The loot and salvage is always more than the mission rewards. sometimes more than the bounties.

It can be .. but just those missions where you get Angels, Blood Raiders, Sansha (and factions like Minmatar, Amarr).

I'd definitely leave the rest until you're into L4s.
Even there I only salvage abovementioned faction wrecks.

Golly Gosh! I found Privateers a bit on the tough side in my Domi - I would not have survived the first volley in room 1 with my poor Catatyst.

Mind you, I only wish I could fly and fit a dessie that well.

huh? You reprocess all the loot from missions? Why? Arent they worth more from selling them individually most of the time? I usually just build up a stockpile and occasionally go to a market hub to sell a freighter full of lewt :P

Becuase for most people, this is way, wayyyy too much work for the return you get. When I used to do missions, my compromise was to refine everything meta 3 or lower, and only check meta 4 gear to see if it was worth selling.

Then, instead of selilng over 9000 different trash items individually, you can sell one huge stack of minerals and a few expensive items that are left over.

Works especially well if you know there's a "Materials for War Preparation" storyline mission out of the same station ;)

It depends on the loot. You'd be surprised how often the market price for small and medium modules is less than the cost of the minerals used to make them. If you refine the meta 1 and 2 modules and sell the minerals you can often make more ISK. Meta 3 and 4 mods are usually priced better, so I sell those. The market price for large mods is typically high enough that its worth selling them. Of course it helps if you've got your refining skills up too...

There are various web sites that can tell you whether the market price is higher or lower than the value of the reprocessed minerals. Sorry, don't have any URL's handy.
