On a semi related note and completely off-topic. They do release massive data dumps for use by developers, which includes a lot of definition type data for the system. I'm currently using that with my exported market logs and my usual toolset of analysis services and data mining to see what interesting things I can learn.

Much <3 to CCP for releasing that. It is fantastic for building apps!

You can file a petition from Account Management on the website.

Go to www.eveonline.com, navigate down the left hand side to get to EVE Support. Click to expand and click on Create a Petition. That will take you to the support page. Click Create Petition again. There will be a link to login through the support site.

Do so, and voila - create your petition without needing the client. It is not that difficult.

you problem is that the trafic is not going true the network to reach the CCP server to many cause can be for someone to pin point it so i give you few thincks to check

aparantly CCP server dont accept the ICMP so you cant ping it that why you need to traceroute it
actualy you can ping the CCP server don't know why that guy from CCP wrote you can't ...

8.Try doing a trace route test to the server router (the server ip itself cannot be pinged). That need to be corected in the wiki.



if there is problem whith traceroute then you know what the problem (you firewall router bloking the trafic) go to the setings delate any thing related to EvE CCP (shut down the compiuter after 10s start it again) once done when you start the game and fire wall message pop up alawd the eve client to go true

on windows 7 you may need to right click te icon and run as administrateur or use the 'eve.exe safe mode' in the game folder

if you where compiuter tehnician we will run WireShark and will spot the problem in 10s, is hard to fix something just by giving advices but if you see the message 'server unknow' 100% youre client is not talking to the server something is bloking the comunication

Imagine a teen angst horror movie. Right at that point where the busty girl dressed in a silken shift grabs the phone to call for help, the guy wearing a mask cuts the phone cord with a serrated blade.

That's basically what is the most likely cause of your problem. There is a connectivity problem somewhere between you and the game server.

This can be because:

(a) A software firewall has not been updated (Configured) to recognise the new EVE Online client from the latest patch
(b) A routing problem anywhere between yourself and the CCP servers
(c) Another reason

Hopefully CCP can guide you through this with small steps that will be understandable for a layman. But because this may very well be a complex area, there will be some troubleshooting steps required.

Biomass yourself, Incarna was indeed a failcascade but the crucible update and the patches that have came with it are a return to the glory days of what eve used to be before CCP somehow got lost, keep up the good work CCP Cool

Still unable to log, I even put in a new modem. Although GM Arcade has been very helpful (and patient P ) with my petition, I still want to play my spaceship game!

You said you installed patch 1.1. Did you install 1.1.1 after that?

Have a corp mate with severe login problems as well. He says it takes hours to get on the game, though once on seems to be okay.

I would say that if you can post to forums it is unlikely an internet connectivity issue.

Suggest you re-download and reinstall from scratch. I hear that many, many others have to do the same to fix CCP patch issues all the time.

I have reinstalled the client a few time, ran repair tool nothing seems to be working. Even the gms don't know what's happening.

Sucks because my pos's are most likely out of fuel. So thanks ccp...

Bumping this again because I'm getting no help. I've sent ccp their 3rd party programs file and they still are not helping. Is anyone else still having these issues because it kind of sucks.
