Contract Trading

I've been interested for a while in pursuing contract trading, but haven't really figured out a way to wrap my head around the process. Without naming any specific items, could any experienced contract players outline a generalized workflow for this line of trading? Is it really as simple as finding a module, buying it up, marking the price up X%, and then relisting it on contracts?

Buy the cheap faction/ds mods from botters monday-thursday, re-list them at the premium weekend price on friday-sun as the plex-for-pvp crowd logs in for action.

Full disclosure as i'm no longer very active in contract trading: I made around 13billion last year on caldari navy bcu markups alone. Billions more from some of the more common deadspace modules often found on tengus and other wormhole craft. They pop quite often due to the dangers of w-space and their owners have absolutely no limit on the isk they'll spend to replace their losses. Just make sure you're near the low end of contract prices come friday afternoon and they'll scarf down dozens of related mods within a few hours, like clockwork.
