Good cargo? Tell gang on system exit gates "Shoot this one."

No risk, no warning, nothing - only dead and robbed.

I think I'm growing tired of pointing out how the hauler could have taken extra steps to better ensure his safety.

The gankers spent time, effort, and risk money to get a kill. The hauler only needs to spend a bit of effort to thwart their efforts.

He's are associated risks:
1.) They shoot it, and it survives because it's has enough tank --- then they lose ships and gain nothing.
2.) They destroy it, and NOTHING of value drops --- Then they lose ships and gain nothing.
3.) They scan ships for HOURS, and don't find any ships worth shooting -- Then they lose time and gain nothing.

1) No - Scan ship also can scan fit.
2) Poor luck but no worry next kill for "lulz" come soon.
3) Shame I cry custard now. Cry

Is only work for newbs. You no can warp disrupt so far so just warp away.

Overheated Warp Disruptor II disrupts to 28 km. When you have a cruiser that goes 2500+ m/s non-overheated and can kill interdictors in only a few shots, you can get some pretty sweet kills. It's very risky, though.

This man knows exactly what he is talking about... the OP does not.

Case in point.

Quote:
This happen for MMO but you stand in door and only 1 maybe 2 people reach you. You in tank behind hill can shell many. There no way for one in EVE but there way for RL one or few to defeat many.

FPS and WOT do not have game elements that involve piloting vulnerable vehicles dedicated to non-combat activities, this game does.

This, of course, shifts your objective to evading the engagement to begin with... not finding a way for a mining vessel to engage multiple hostile craft and kill them.

While I thank you for the compliment, I only know what I'm talking about because I've tried everything I talk about. I've busted through 20-man nullsec gatecamps by using Cloak-MWD, survived lowsec smartbomb camps because I bothered to tank myself, and many other things.

OP doesn't. She just says "no, these existing solutions don't work" without ever trying them, and demands something new from CCP. If OP would like a demo of how to get around Eve safely, I can readily do so on TQ or on SiSi. OP really shouldn't shoot down things like "tank", "cloak-mwd", "intel" or "intelligence" and jump straight to creating new things.

Evade yes.
Fail evade? - Tank long enough friend rescue.

Solution work for evade. I say many time.

They do nothing if evade fail.

Story:

Mining Barge is sit grav site in worm hole system, mine happy time. Ganker is scan before they log on. Put cloak ship near. Enemy jump in and grab miner. Miner tank and friends in system next door who shoot sleeper they come fast. Then good fight.

In hisec this will survive more than enough for CONCORD to arrive. Elsewhere, you have a good tank to start with (25.5k EHP) which can get you a good amount of the way to surviving until your friends come in. You also have ECM drones, which could end up jamming your attacker and you getting away without needing any help.

Which part of this needs mechanic changes again?

I'm not sure what you're talking about with the 17k. Do you just have bad shield skills?

Also, to ask that a Hulk tank 4-5 Thrashers is ridiculous. Those things can hit 500 DPS. To tank 5 Thrashers for a minute, you need to have more than 150000 EHP. To put that in perspective, 150000 EHP is around what a mega-tanked Abaddon (tier 3 Amarr battleship) has, when fitting three 1600mm plates and trimark rigs. The Abaddon is also far easier to hit, as its signature is 3x that of the Hulk. The Abaddon is also more expensive.

And... guess what? The Abaddon doesn't earn you money. It is a sunk cost into a ship that you will one day lose in PvP. The Hulk pays for itself over time. The Abaddon does not. It makes no sense at all for a Hulk to be that tanky.

Something that would make sense is for the Hulk to be more agile, to align and warp faster at a sign of trouble. You would still need to use your piloting skill for that, and not just sit there praying your friends will come on time.

Nope. I got the point: that ganking non-combat ships is too easy and there should be mechanics/buffs to make it harder.

What I'm saying is a different point: it is only "too easy" when done against people who are not taking precautions. If more people flew haulers properly rather than just giant cargo containers, ganking would not be a problem.

T1 Industrials are designed to be paper bags used to transport near-valueless cargo*. If you fill them with the incorrect cargo, you will go *BOOM* It's nice and simple like that.

*BattleBadger and Battle IttyV are both a hell of a lot of fun, and probably the best way to use that Indy 5 skill.

The part where 5 Brutix show up to 'take care of things'.
