Game crash on gate jump - windows error

Have crashed at pretty much every gate in Period basis, and a number in Delve. Crash every time I use a jump bridge, without fail.

Game is unplayable, awaiting patch.

I've had this happen while jumping on gates sometimes, while jumping to a cyno and on titan bridges (not on both directions for the same route though). Clearing cache has had no effect.

Now that you guys are working on a fix should we still submit crash dumps?

I have the same problem. This problem happens rather frequently on jumping into BWF or VFK (systems with 50-100+ people in them consistently). The problem can occur outside of jumping into a populated system, though.

It doesn't happen to me only on regional or constellation gates as other folks have experienced elsewhere in this thread. The crash will consistently happen whether I use jumpdrive, gates, or poddeath to travel.

I tried a fresh install, low graphics, different accounts, etc, but eve is still broken and I am losing ships more or less randomly.

After applying the patch I crashed 3 times by resizing from window mode and since then it crashes just before the login screen.
Thank god I didn't left station and applied a 17d long skillBig smile

I submitted a petition (id 2759912) and tried to google the problem. guess what?

1st page result this post for app version, time stamp, fault module version & timestampBig smile

keyword was 6.0.6002.18541 and returns many crashes last month for different apps.
I suggest to blame windows 7 who have no or minor crashes against vista and xpRoll

My god, this game is such a piece of ****. After almost 9 years there are still fkn bugs every patch that requires a patch to fix bugs caused by another patch. Does CCP ever tests their patches before fkn releasing them to the live server? Because that kind of incompetence is hard to come by. There was a patch every day this week and the game still has bugs. And CCP wants us to vote for them for gaming awards? Hell NO. We should all get a month's worth of compensation or a free plex for all the bugs in this game. Pathetic.

Well, I also have this problem. After much frustration, a hard disk check, a fresh Windows 7 install and all the appropriate drivers, I am still experiencing gate jump crashes. Also, switching between windowed, fixed or full screen had no effect (fyi for some fourmies). Noticed after third crucible patch(329614). Latest crashes EFA -- 3-FKCZ. Appears to be random for me. 0.0 unplayable! grrrr

Hi Habakuk,

Thanks so much for looking at this. It's getting very difficult to manage with the constant disconnects!

Any updates on the status of this patch? It's been roughly 2 days since you posted and I know a lot of people, including myself, are keen to see this particular bug put to death!

Were you able to identify a workaround that you could share from identifying the bug?

Personally I think the bug occurs less often without Tactical Overlay and no closed chats.
But that might be snakeoil as it's only less often, not never.

Cannot see them patching on a Sunday, hopefully they get everything right by Monday or Tuesday. I would hate to not be able to play EVE for another Weekend. Cry

Guys the workaround until they patch it that I found was that you can play in windowed mode and minimize EVE whenever you jump. If you keep the game minimized during the time it was going to crash for you, it won't crash.

This has been working for me every time. A bit weird to do, but at least its something until they patch.

Please do not take this as a snipe at you, CCP Habakuk, but why the **** hasn't the PM who owns the Crucible 1.1 release not been in communication with EVE service subscribers on this issue?

This problem has rendered gate-to-gate travel and cyno-based jumps an exercise in crashed clients and re-logging in hoping that you can get your ship / capital off a gate or to a safe place once landed.

Some players have not experienced this problem -- fortunately. But many I know are consistently and negatively impacted.

I repeat: where is the Crucible project lead's communication to the subscribers?

I crash on every 20th jump or so. This includes right clicking gate, using selected item box, and auto pilot.

Fix this CCP.

Just chiming in to say this sucks.

Black Ops dropped a ratter last night. Two of our three BO BSes d/c'd on jump.

Not to mention the dozen or so times my alt or I have crashed the instant we jumped through a gate.

A CCP update on progress in testing the fix and patching it out to clients would be very welcome.
