I would love to see the ability to divide up inventory and one's personal wallet into tabs, like the corp division system.

ISSUE:
Lots of BPCs clogging up inventory containers.

FIX:
If a blueprint copy has the same ME/PE and licensed runs remaining they should be stackable.

Quoting for truth.

Possibly an option so you can see currently researched ME/PE on a BPO.Something like little red numbers for ME and Blue for PE. Stackable BPO would be good, I invent and research a good bit, and thus finding the good BPO to put on copy/research or production is often painfull.

Tags would be neat, certainly.

Use Case: Pilot uses a station for trading, ship fitting, reprocessing, manufacturing, and selling loot.

Problem 1:
Pilot's ship fitting 'library' must be stored at the item hangar floor in order to be searched by the Fitting Browser, where they intermix with transient items from reprocessing/trading/manufacturing. This is particularly a problem if the pilot also trades in the modules that he has in his library, which is reasonable to expect.

Potential solutions:

  • Allow the fitting window to automatically recurse into item hangar containers when searching for ship modules and charges.
  • Allow the user to explicitly select container(s) to draw modules from (and dump modules to) when applying a ship fitting. Container overflow could either go to hangar floor or cause fitting to fail with error dialog. Bonus feature: allow fitting to/from corporate hangars.
  • Add filtering options to select items which are currently included in one or more saved personal/corporate fittings.

Problem 2:
Items for refining/reprocessing are intermixed with valuable trading and manufacturing input/output. Current filtering options do not scale well for segregating these items, creating a risk of reprocessing valuable trade items when moving them to the hangar floor for reprocessing.

Potential solutions:

  • Allow items to be reprocessed from within container children of the item hangar floor. Output would be dumped to hangar floor.
  • Add filtering options to select items currently listed in personal/corporate buy/sell orders.
  • Add filtering options to select items which have been listed in personal/corporate buy/sell orders within the last [x] days.
  • Allow trade and manufacturing output to be redirected into a container child of the item hangar floor. Container overflow could prevent manufacturing delivery, or go directly to hangar floor.
  • Allow trade and manufacturing inputs to be sourced from a container. i.e. sell items directly from the container, and select materials and BPs from container for manufacturing job input.

Problem 3:
Sorted loot scheduled for sale can be stored in a container, but must be repackaged and sold (and repaired?) from hangar floor.

Potential solutions:

  • allow items to be sold, repackaged, and repaired from within container children of the item hangar floor.

Other suggestions

Take a cue from the Overview and allow for multiple tabs, each with container/filter settings remembered independently. We can sort of do that right now with multiple docked windows, but the windows aren't named and if we accidentally close the stack we're SOL and have to rebuild it. Even just having 'saved views' like the Overview (with a name in the title bar) would be an improvement, if tabs are not desired.

Allow for pinning one or more containers at the top of the left index, outside the scroll region.

Add a horizontal scroll bar in details/list view. It's irritating to have to resize the window (or the individual columns) to do an occasional check on one of the less useful columns such as 'size'. Make it optional if need be.

Add an optional 'value' column in details/list view. The guesstimate-value of an individual selected row is already calculated and displayed in the bottom right: make it a proper column so we can sort by it.

Copy and paste of items from one location to another would also be awesome. (I kid Twisted)

Posted independently for discussion in this same forum:

Today, I was thinking of some joke posts to pull in F&I. One of them was to suggest to CCP to color code the text on all modules with the now-standard WoW quality colors. If you don't know what that is, the joke would have been lost anyway. But my gist was to talk about how great it would be if people were spouting their 'purple' fit Navy Geddon's.

Then, it hit me that this might not be a bad idea. No, the WoW color thing IS a bad idea. But putting an option in the new upcoming Inventory UI where you could assign color codes to items by usage, fitting, or meta ... THAT isn't a bad idea at all. So here's the breakdown:

Allow players to customize the way items are displayed in their own inventories (this is a private setting, like UI settings). This includes setting the color of the text, the color of the item background (i.e. behind the lettering, essentially), or setting an item to blinking or subdued (barely visible, greyed out).

Now, to sort these, we're really getting into the juicy part. Allow all three options (animation, text and background) to be used under the following headings:

- Meta: Goes to that WoW idea, but it's pretty simple. You set which meta gets what color. If you want meta 1 to be grey, meta 2-4 to be white, meta 5 to be blue, meta 6 to be green, etc. Whatever color options, you open your inventory, and the meta of the item is instantly identified.

(I know for a lot of veteran players this option isn't that useful. Listen, except for a few ewar modules, I know just by the name what meta an item generally is and what I'm looking for. It's not that hard. But for new players, it can really be a ***** trying to understand our jargon)

- Market Value: This allows you to color code items with the market in mind. Want to blink any item in your inventory which is currently being sold at or above average market value, or near estimated value (which is damn near never market value)? How about greying out 'junk' which isn't being bought for even it's mineral worth?

(I seriously want this, but I can sense ... and actually kinda agree with ... arguments that this takes a lot of the research and skill out of the market system. Would love to get other opinions here)

- Fitting: If the item can be fit on your active ship (available PG/CPU or slots). If the item is in part of your ships saved fitting. If the item is part of ANOTHER saved fitting (so as you don't use all of the parts of your best fleet ship accidentally).

(Simple and direct.)

So, what do you think? It doesn't filter, it doesn't put things in tabs or folders (both necessary as hell). But it would definitely help.

If you're driven to threaten others with harm or violence because of what they do in game, you can't separate fantasy from reality. That "griefer/thief" is probably more sane than you are. How screwed up is that?

Ok, this one is mostly Visual. But will certainly help allot on finding assets, I will try to make it simple...

Personal Assets

In the first line of tabs there should be:

ALL | Region | Constellation | Solar System | Station | Search

Clicking in ANY of them should lead to a second line of tabs

Ships | Modules | Charges | Drones | Minerals | Others | Add

Obs: Clicking on ADD would add another classification tab, right clicking on a tab would allow to remove it. (This tabs would be from the same list as the market)

On the Assets main tab you should add a Menu (those that open with right click) to chose the sorting method from Distance or Quantity and maybe (add) Estimated Value.

Right clicking on the Region, Constellation, Solar System tab it would show a list of the possible view options (default is "current"). As it is selected the tab name changes to the selected option. If the tab is changed it is reset to default.

Please add or support the addition of more KEYBOARD shortcuts to the UI. Eve has alot already, but its missing them for some of the newer features. WiS should also have more simpler shortcuts

Many aspects of the UI are painful having to click everything. I honestly hate using the mouse more than i have to... I far far faster with the keyboard.

Examples.

  • Pressing enter on a dialog should be able confirm/decline in some smart manner.

  • Right clicking an item in the storage should have keyboard shortcut similar to what you would see in a menu of a OS application. Quickly selling an item should be right click on said item, press S, press enter to confirm the sell. (since the batch sell doesn't seem to be an option...)

  • Selecting a PI building such as a storage tank, or a extractor, press del to decommission something and enter for the confirmation window.

  • Right clicking on the couch in the Stations should let you automatically sit rather than having to hover over it and the click on the sit button. I don't know if this part belongs under the WiS thread though.

How about being able to collapse the faction / corporation / agent tabs in the standings section of the character sheet.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but I'd love to see a container or something that we can use to sort our ship hanger. For instance, I use cans to sort blueprints, items, etc (most of us do). Why can't we have this functionality in ship hangers? It gets to be a pain when you have 5 of the same ship and 3 are for pvp and 2 pve and you have to quickly swap ships. Or times when I'm looking for my haulers and I just keep missing them. I know the search is there but putting all my mining ships in one sub-hanger would be really helpful.

Why not lift the restriction on number of divisions altogether? How about just allotting a certain amount of m3 per station to a corp and allowing directors to divide and name the divisions accordingly? Say, and this is just an example for clarity, 10 million m3. Allow the corp directors to divide it into 10 divisions of 1 million m3 each storage or 11 divisions with 5 having 1.5 million m3 and 6 having 25 m3. I think that would give corps the flexibility they are looking for in office management.

Can you please make it close when you loot a container instead of just keeping your inventory open in space?

Its been bugging me ever since you changed it to this new form years ago. I hate that it just sticks there when I don't need it at all.

At least make it an option for it to auto close after looting.

ISSUE: owning lots of stuff = a huge mess, using containers to sort stuff is not a really cool option (cant start industry from them iirc)
FIX: Folders, Tags, Hangars, something like that, i prefer a tag funktionality since items can have multiple tags but can not be in multiple folders at once, an option to automatically tag specific items based on name or attributes would be awesome

One thing is not being able to start industry from inside containers.

Another is not being able to repackage items that are in containers, or in ship's cargo holds. Being able to do that would be really nice.

Also the Assets window should be able to search inside containers. At the very least as a toggle option, which becomes set to "off" every time you close the Assets window, so that you have to actively set it to "on" again when you need to spend the extra computing resources on a "containers-included" type search.

I would like to plus wun a few of the above posts.

\o/ colourcoding meta levels! \o/
\o/ useful containers! \o/

Also allow us to auto-fit ships using stuff from containers.

And a browsertab-like functionality for containers would be welcome - much neater then having everying on the left of the screen.

Here's what I don't get. The ship spinning is great and all. But when we're parked up, all we really do is access all these windows. Could they not make a separate !OPTIONAL! hanger view that better allows you to navigate your menu from the start. A ship to click for fitting, a stack of items for your item window, a distant hanger for your ships window, some weapons for a reduced weapons and ammo only item window, and so on...

I do know there is a lot to be said for the optimization of a good menu system. Consolidating it into one is absolutely necessary. But breaking down your items into their groups and having some obvious and easily accessible objects to click in a hanger would make at least starting your search for items quicker. It would also provide a very comfortable view for a new player who can now SEE what they have.

Sorry if this is a little too far out there, just seems like an option is being completely overlooked. Also something to consider for those very new players.

it is not inventor ui but i didn't know where to put it and i put it here it also ui issue think if you improve that it be nice

now to change scan probe range you need to grab and drag blue spahre or righ click at selected probes and you get first menu with 4 options; recover probe, destroy probe, deactivate probe, scan range. when you go scan range you get all ranges option to chose, my offer is to delate secend menu, delete in first menu scan range option, and put in first menu all ranges form secend menu so you have all in first menu

issue: inability to to see ME/PE and runs of blueprints in the inventory this is really annoying and the darn-est thing to it is that S&I tab does show all that but does not allow sorting, moving or linking from it.

fix: Give the inventory the column option like we already have it for meta level and tech level (wich both are virtually useless)
the option can be show science levels or individually show ME(material level) PE (production efficiancy) and runs remaining

Add the ability for corporation assets to also appear under the standard 'Assets' window as a secondary tab for those who have access to view those hangars or locations (including POS).

Add a log to the Assets window which shows when an item moved under each tab, and where (into a ship hangar, moved by a certain player, the date of the move, etc).

This is the Inventory UI thread, first off.

Secondly, CQ wasn't killed. A bunch of players throwing temper tantrums got their way and put CQ on the backburner. But it still has coders dedicated to it, plugging away.

If not already posted, simply allow us to create folders to store items in. For example,

Create a folder (Can,, room, whatever it should be called) and allow me to sort out my weapons, from my warp scrablers, from my ammo.

Maybe have preset filters to show only "ammo" or only " weapons"..

I'm new to the game, but can see if you spend a lot of time in this game, years, you can get a HUGE pile of stuff.

Also maybe allow a MASTER inventory, to show what you have EVERYWHERE... maybe a new skill book to train.
