Hey I'm back from a long one and of course I have a rocky-fied idea to save Eve.

I have been an citizen of new Eden for quite a while, yet a problem that remains a constant is every chat channel. I experience that this "problem" causes an loss in the social experience, for pilots often have no idea that a new message arrives. As a result, the speaker gets an eerie feeling of being ignored or having written something dumb; thus, causing her/him to write even more messages to explain the last message that also gets "ignored" due to this "problem." THIS IS NOT A PLEASENT EXPERIENCE!

By simply adding a sound to a chat window's method of blinking, when it's minimized, that plays a distinct* ambient sound.

I foresee 3 options, that are:
1) off,
2) sound of once,
3) sound of interval (with drop down menu: 10sec,30sec,1min,5min).

I'd advise new players having default setting of #2; in order to, get them into the social experience.

I like the theory of perception points, so ill clarify.
After blowing everything up, crashing into stations, self-destructing tons of cheap and expensive ships, assembling P.O.Stations, moon and planet harvesting, war, marketing to a point of nausea yet becoming rich rich, and collecting allot of ships. The one thing that I can't get enough of in New Eden is the social side. Those nutters I keep meting out there with their peculiar adorable perception points..

And I’m also guessing you have never partaken in a voice chat with people playing instruments and singing. That is just the thing that accumulates when the social structure is actively strengthened.

So fix it, for u r loosing money: Fix chat = people socialize = more people in New Eden = more money for CCP = CCP make better Universes.
