and that is because we are just too slow on deciding stuff, which, in fact, now that I think about it, and taking EVE as a parallelism, shows that democracies are too slow to decide stuff fast.

Whereas the entire world is laughing at the UK over the Icesave dispute.

Personally I think the problem is that the government is too large relative to the size of the private sector workers.
So far all the answers from the governement are for yet even more government. (surprise surprise lol)

Once they get to the root of the problem and shrink the government relative to the size fo the economy, Europe & the USA for that matter, are going to continue experiencing the problems that they are.

When people stop having babies, the government has to stop hiring government workers. A significant portion of the populace doesn't want to hear this though so we'll see how long it's going to take to reverse the course of this sinking ship.

Wrong. Wrong.

the only reason these laws haven't worked yet is because of the amount of people against it.

Right. But still wrong.

SOPA was not the doomsday everyone thought and that was painfully obvious if you actually read the text of the legislation, and it only had the level of support it did because everyone exaggerated the hell out of it and made it sound terrible, and no one discussed the bill text. Go back to your favorite hyperbole SOPA articles. NONE of them cite bill text.

In the real world legislators who know the bill's text see irrational public panic and they react by posturing against it to not offend their constituency, but as soon as the panic subsides they'll pass this (or something like it) right under your nose because they still think it's a good idea.

All the top people on our side of the issue that could have made a difference in what they think... instead of explaining why it was bad in real world terms, argued BULLSHIT exaggerations about shutting down and endangering the entire internet (as if that was even in anyone's interest even if the bill let them do it lol). They refuse to acknowledge anything could possibly be illegal, and they refuse to offer an alternative way to resolve the issue.

While UK is actively hamstringing any effort from the rest of Europe to bring some sense into the financial sphere. Like being against the tax on financial flux, for exemple, or letting the City remain a fiscal dumping paradise.

At this point UK should just be kicked out of the EU. Letting them have political power inside the EU while being out of the Eurozone was wrong in the first time. When you want to be part of something, you join fully, or you don't join at all.
