Certainly his name "Olleybear" in a corp called "I R' Carebear" did not hint at his gaming attitude.

Really and yet then this "carebear" as I'm supposed to associate as such then, who is nearly half way up the top 10k ranked individuals on Battleclinic is a complete carebear pacifist then?

Apperances are not always what they seem eh? and I apologised for making an ass of myself from assuming, your turn perhaps?

Tip: If your going to try character assasination, as a suggestion, try pointing the weapon at the person you intend to attack. Lol

No but he's not griefing, like his name implies.

Maybe I'll make a alt then with the name "Not Ascammer" and contract you a few offers? Could be interesting. Roll

But then you'd need to make an alt with the name "Foolish Wallet" I guess for it to work? P

Ahh what a good post. I as a representative of many industrialist, mission runner and mining players in high sec I have made it known to CCP on a number of occasions that cancellation of our combined subscriptions at almost 15 euro's a time will surely come about as more and more people become dissalusioned with a game that allows cyber bulying-the mindless, senseless ganking affecting the playing experience for the majority of high sec players. We have suggested a complete ban on high sec PvP-surely those wanting to fight ought to fight others of the samr mindset rather than acting out cyber bullying online as in rl they would get their backsides nicely kicked in. Many of us chose to play Eve to do well in non PvP areas and we pride ourselves in having greater planning, intellect and determination than many PvPers, and chosing to stay with the game, at least for now. The banning of PvP in highsec (or maybe certain security level space such as 1.0 to 0.8) is a neat solution and would actually help PvPers improve their skills if that floated their boats. If CCP contines to permit high sec gankings then many long-term players will leave the game which will be all the worse for everyone. With the current rl financial situation we can all find other things to spend our money on. Time will tell but the writing is well and truely on the wall.

They may go on for all I care; they won't be getting my money any time soon.

Of course you can't have my stuff. I'll need it in year and a half or two years from now when I forget how horrible (the blatantly visible part of) EVE community is and once again resub for a month or two to see same pathetic trolls wining the game by default.

Go and play SWOTR or WOW.

Where is the point in accumulating isk/ gold which can't lose anyway.

BTW: Following your logic, Texas Hold'em no limit is also based on griefing but is one of the most popular card games out there. If you can't deal with it, don't play it.

Here is what happens when CCP make EVE WoW in space. They will have to compete with directly with all the 08/15 MMOs like WoW and SWOTR. Griefers will unsub, noone will create sandbox content in the game (you know those 0.0 dictators are the guys who drive conflicts which become stories about epic battles which which become videos on youtube which make you sub for Eve in the first place).

Result: No conflict -> no demand for replacement --> no industry --> only a bunch of people in high sec running incursions with billions of isk on their account and nothing there they can spend it for.

we should get rid of pvp in this game or have the option to opt out

Joining an MMO that has PvP as it's core (there's really no point in arguing the point here, you undock or take part in any part of the market and you're engaging in PvP) and then bitching about it is like going to play tennis and compaining when everyone shouts at you for standing there juggling the balls and not actually playing.

Losing money and playing with other people is way more fun than hiding because you're worried your toys will get broken.

If you are a trader, industrial, mission runner, explorer, (former)Incursion runner, any kind of PVPer who doesn't fund himself trough suicide ganking or endless lowsec gatecamps... unsub now to make EVE better.

How?

Well you see. EVE with its "there is no griefing" GM policies has attracted most vile and disgusting gathering of would-be sociopaths with self esteem issues ever seen in any online game.

And you support them. 80% of EVE population is highsec. It is you who pay CCPs bills; but it is highsec griefers and 00 important internet spaceships tyrants and dictators who get all the CCPs love and attentions. (Lowsec is completely and might as well not be there).

Thanks to PLEX market worthless lowlifes can play game you pay for, for free, with isk from loot from your ships. If you were a fool who attempted to run missions or exploration in lowsec and got ganked, you are helping the pay for their game. If you are "honest" PVPer who has no time to grind and buy PLEXes for resell; your money goes to CCP to pay for their game time.

In theory, as long as there is sufficient population of victims the freeloading griefers can continue to exist. But in real world; when couple dozen thousand people unsub with sole reason "game is designed to favor griefers, do you think I'm mad to continue to pay for it" someone in Reykjavik will have to stop and think.

For ten million trolls that will leech to this thread. Thin fine line between "allowing non consensual PVP" and "there isn't nearly anything in game that is actually considered griefing and punished" is light years thick.

Yes this is Incursion whine thread. But much more than that its "why do I pay money to CCP to provide game for legions of arrogant sick fucks". And "EVE is fine game, but among its players are most of the worst human beings you can possibly encounter on internet".

I think /b has more soul and humanity in it than C&P denizens.

The logs show......EVE is working as intended.

Oh come on now, you have the technology to rebuild.

I tried the whole industry thing, hauled many PI goods and minerals, and never got ganked, ever. I took the proper precautions. I stayed alert, and if things got fishy, I GTFO. Ganking is a key part of things here, you are never truly safe, and never will be.

Getting ganked in EVE is only slightly more likely than getting mugged in a busy city. If you take the right precautions, it highly likely just won't happen.

Unless the ganker is just REALLY adamant on you and you specifically, then yeah, pop goes your weasel.

Seriously? Eve doesn't really need your sub that bad...you and all the others who have been saying this kind of crap for 8 years. Guess what, Eve is still here, and so are the griefers.

You're not the only one hoping it's the last time you unsub.

I don't "grief" and I could be considered as "winning" I mean, look at my goggles, they're expensive.

The will go on for all you care, and while any company would like your money sometime sooner than later, I think CCP and the rest of us will survive.

No one wants your stuff, it's probably useless to most of us and it can be good when items of isk value are removed from the game. Not that you have enough to make a difference of course.

I recommend star wars, it is kind of a neat game, I had fun with it for about a week. No matter what happens you never lose anything and if you jump through a few hoops you get new stuff pretty often and some of it even looks cool on your character.

Have fun

I think there is a valid concern in losing what you get from grinding to fund the playtime of the people who screw you over when you're having fun. This is an important thing to be informed about and I can't disregard the people who are bothered by this.

Now that I know this happens, well, I'm personally fine with it. It does not bother me when I spend hours doing something to have it taken away from me, EVE is a high-stakes game when you put yourself into high-stakes situations. Fortunately, there's hardly no place to hide from such madness, and you paint your own target on your chest when you involve yourself in profitable activity.

Unsubbing won't fix this, but complaining right here on these forums is a good start. Find like-minded people, if they're out there. If they're not, then it's hard for the minority to demand change and maybe EVE really isn't the place for you.

ISK and items aren't the goal to me playing EVE, it's the people I play with and the experience of trying that I keep coming back for. The EVE world does breed and reward antisocial behavior, but I could hardly say that there's a lot of people playing I'd consider psychopathic.

If there's anyone who feels that they're being unduly bullied, all I can offer is that you haven't found the right friends to work with yet. It's your right to deny CCP your money to stimulate change, and it's fine to call on others to do it, but I promise there are plenty of good people around who can help you make it a better place without removing yourself from the game.

To, tell the truth. EVE is designed to make you addicted to keep playing and paying money. But as you said greifers pay for PLEX. PLEX is for people who dont have the money.

It's terrible that they're allowed to use game mechanics to do this, it must be stopped, immediately!

WoW holds your hand until end game, and gives you a cookie whether you win or lose. EVE not only takes your cookie, but laughs at you for bringing one in the first place...
