New module idea

my proposal is a module that that would allow you to extract someones cargo before blowing there ship up. would this be like stealing a dying mans wallet? dunno....

description

this module would be a high slot module, acts in a way similar to a salvager with a access difficulty bonus so we are talking 4-5 cycles depending on skills and how many of these modules you would have fitted.

when would you use this module

when you are in control of the engagement, if you've just caught a hauler or some other vulnerable piece of space junk or otherwise have the target jammed or can other wise tank the target indefinitely.

restrictions

-the module wont activate on a ship unless its been striped of its armor and the structure has been breached. this is to prevent pilot 'a' activating the 'prototype cargo stealer thingy' on pilot 'b' at the beginning of the fight and stealing pilot 'b's ammo preventing him from fighting passed what he has already got loaded in his guns or launchers.

-5km range, just like a salvager i know, no imagination :)

- when salvaging has finished the cargo will be pooped out into a foating can incase the ship that is salvaging hasnt got the cargo capacity to fit all the loot

why?

-more salvageable loot to make pvp more profitable and more appealing

-also its funny and humiliating for the victim

concerns

-The pilots who hull tank, lets start with the taranis who may not be in structure long enough to get his cargo stolen :)

- the pilots who active armor tank and occasionally dip into structure may get his cargo stolen unless he can rep some armor back and turn off the aggressors 'prototype cargo stealer thingy' if not then his dead anyway

i know what your thinking New Eden this new module is more off a 'want' than a 'need' right?

but you know what its like when an idea pops in your head but its ok you can tell me its a bad idea i can take it :)

This is a very interesting idea... Taking the time to extract an item means there is more time for backup to arrive.

I would have the caveat that item extraction is not guaranteed, and has a probabilistic mechanism of a successful extraction of random cargo items with each cycle, and that the cycle time is long enough (30+s) that ships could self-destruct to deny the extraction process.

Yes, interesting... I would only support this idea if it comes with the Jumbo Sweetheart Gift Basket module, which when extracted from your ship's cargo hold, explodes and destroys the extractor's ship.
