And yet you are replying to a thread created by an alt....in which over half the posts are by alts.....

How do you even know this is about posting with mains or alts if you haven't read anything Shocked

So far, a good cross-section of C&P lately.

For the irony most likely posted on an alt...

Always use my main, freedom of speech and all that jazz plus for those who disagree I'm always up for more to shoot at Twisted
How is posting a thread telling people to post with their alts on an alt in any way ironic?

To me and the group i play with it is a choice to only use a alt for forum posts.

It is a strategic advantage, specially if your still building up your corporation.

I seriously dont care how it is looked upon, with time, this character will be "known" just as much as a main would be "known".
But ofcourse i understand, ide definily encourage others aswell to post on their main.
Specially if i had a few years old alt that looks like a main.

Once you think you have it all, you have actually become ignorant towards everything else.

Except your alt will have no combat record, and possibly no real corporation history. (And no being in a single one man corp for years still makes you an alt).

Anyway there are plenty of alts that are "known" on the forums, if you're willing to build up a reputation of not being a complete idiot that way it is certainly possible. But I still think it's less work to just link to your main every now and then so you can tell inexperienced players posting on alts to STFU.

Maybe thats the point, me and my m8's dont feel like telling other people to STFU.
Its upto the other person to take it seriously or not.

To me it makes no difference, i think it is shallow if you go by those criteria, but who cares.
(Or i guess i do care since i chose to not go with the flow of "if you post with alt you fail and if you post with main your kewl")

Once you think you have it all, you have actually become ignorant towards everything else.

Ahh, you see I post in features and ideas discussion a lot. We see threads like "ban warp bubbles", "let us see the other side of a gate without a scout" and "Industrials should be combat capable".

Sometimes, when explaining things fails, it's easier to just use the old argument from authority to get them to go away.

I see what you mean.

I respect that opinion, though it is not mine.
I personally still maintain that it is upto the other player to take it seriously or not.
Specially within a gaming environment where "authority" perceived by players just does not mean much to me.

I might need to go into a few nuances their though.
In a theme-park game where outcomes are fixed towards a fixed order of pressing buttons, i can see this "authority" having more weight. I would still argue if you really need to tell someone to STFU, but i digress.

Within EvE however......doing things differently will give you an advantage.
It is often the case when people get used to doing things in a certain way, it becomes "the only way".
Players within EvE are no different.

But again, i see what you mean, luckily we are all different.

Once you think you have it all, you have actually become ignorant towards everything else.

I am posting with an alt and proud of it.

Besides, all my alts are my main alts, so in some sense, I covered all bases.

My 'alt' has more experience points and better kill stats, but I play this character most.

Don't know if I'm an alt or not. Lol

I've been bad posting with my 'main' for years, the name has changed a few times, but I have yet to have someone hunt me down and seek vengeance because I said something mean to them on the forums.

Besides- what are you going to do? Fly to VFK and try and kill me? I invite you to.

Ahh that explains it. Not many people are going to go wandering through null looking to pay you back for a particularly scathing forum post.

I was in Delve a few weeks ago iirc. We blew up some stuff and left when we got bored.

Wow, how many people think that the only way another Eve player can cause you grief is with a PVP ship?
