When i try to open EVE, i have the next error:

Shader Model (SM3) support is needed to run this game. Click OK to close the game client.

Is there any possibility with this old pc?

just follow the links in the posts.

Ubuntu has some xorg ppa that has the latest devel mesa/X (xorg-edgers or similar it is named). I am not on Ubuntu anymore (cannot stand the distribution) so cannot server the details. But Ubuntu wiki/forums should have some clues.

All i get on the link's post are dead links.

I'm searching on the ubuntu main page, and all i found was https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RadeonDriver . Looks like its not for my vga right?

I googled a bit ...

Quote:

If you feel that you want to install a more recent driver (I dont recommend this if you do not know how to recover from a broken graphics driver) you can add the xorg-edgers fresh X crack PPA and update your system with the packages from there.

To do that open a terminal and use these commands

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade

Reboot with

sudo reboot

And you should be using the latest Intel drivers on your system, again, use this with extra caution!

sorry for that, I am not an Ubuntu guy :-) I guess you can get things running, but it needs some tweaks that I cannot help you with.

however for a tip,head over to Phoronix.com and search/ask around the forums there. site is dedicated to linux and graphics ...
