We are more connected then you and many others really want to admit.

Self entitlement, right there. Also, they don't have to make a statement at all as it doesn't pertain them.

Read above.

We are not connected at all, we all live in our dark little corners and have no effect on others what so ever Roll

Do not get me wrong, citizens from the US and other countries found in the Americas do the same, but it really is sad in todays day and age.

Damn it, CCP. This may be a political discussion, but it will effect THE ENTIRE INTERNET!

Let me sum up SOPA and PIPA (copies of eachother) in my own words:

Any website that has ANY amount of date from ANY other website will automatically be blocked. Translation: Every website in the world, including this one.

So pull it together and do something about it. Do anything about it other than ignore it, please! Not just for the good of your company, but for the good of everyone around the world!

GIVE ME LIBERTY, OR GIVE ME DEATH!

This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Could it be argued that this discussion is more legal than political. If so than surely we can chat here.

In any case I am in UK and I have signed the petition urging the UK government to condemn SOPA. I encourage all members of all countries represented here to do the same.

SOPA is dead will never pass the senate nor congress for that matter. Most of the writers of SOPA are pulling back and saying they are not part of it.

It doesn't make sense for a foreign company to complain or take a stance... what channels do they even have to influence USA domestic policy? Besides, I would think that the more foreign opposition they see to it, all the more strongly American legislators would support SOPA and PIPA just to spite them.

I think now that the word is out and the public is more aware of what's at stake, these particular bills will either fail or be much curtailed. In the long run though, we'll likely have this kind of legislative fight every few years until the big media companies inevitably win. They have vast financial resources and the benefit of immortality; most voters have only spurts of indignation and the ability to write misspelled letters to the wrong congressmen.

Corporations! Corporations that lobbies like mad to have laws etc go their way. I mean Corporations that has free hands to do do what ever to laws and tweak them and have taxs breaks etc what wrong. Corporate is a tool to make money and will do it regardless to you or your family.

This is a very good example what they are trying to do. They want us to sit on the couch get fat and just buy. Not able to be creative nor think freely. Corporation wants control and that's about it.

We host a hell of a lot of content that you want access to. SOPA/PIPA would end that.

Silence is not an answer, silence by definition is the lack of an answer. And yes, they can remain neutral.

Having not read the text of the proposals myself, I remain neutral on the subject due to my own ignorance. I refuse to be lead by the nose by bloggers, activists, and doomsayers into protesting something I don't fully understand. If the detractors are right, then I oppose the legislation.

Apparently the best course of action to guarantee that SOPA/PIPA doesn't pass is to "donate" $100,000 per congressman.

I read today that SOPA supporters are pulling back and not endorsing it any more. Anyone have more info? Seems like support for this bill is dying out. Result of the blackouts? Would love to know or see its current status and chances of failure or success. Just curious.

It's looking better at the moment

Of course, they'll just keep trying and winning minor victories here and there, like with ACTA, untill bit by bit the internet dies. Sad

So fight em every inch of the way. Twisted
