Welcome. Fly safe and have fun :)

Make sure to do all tutorial missions before entering the vast world of EVE Online. Exploration path is fun and engaging, but try also other activities. There's a lot of them so you have plenty things to choose from. If you get confused by all the features EVE has for you, slow down. You need time to get around all of this. Confusion is normal.

Hello and welcome to Eve.

Best thing to do is complete the Tutorial, then complete missions for the Career agents. By then you should be familiar enough with Eve. Just remember this game takes a while for your character to develop to the point of being half way decent so don't get discouraged.

A very good source for info is the Evelopedia. Next is your Corporation. You'll be in a NPC starter corp but there should be helpful players to answer questions. These forums are ok for info but just remember to expect cynical sarcastic replies, which is the case with all public forums on the internet.

Anyway, good luck and much success to you.

One more saying do the Tutorials all the way through. They'll show you a lot of different things that you can do in the sandbox. Things you might otherwise not find out about for a long time, if you just jump right into missioning. Welcome!

Welcome to EVE Online, happy to see you (might) like this game. Could start a million word post on things you should do and shouldn't do, but best just read the above mentioned stuff.

I will add the 3 golden rules of EVE:

1.) Don't fly what you can't afford to loose (meaning any ship you loose, and yes you will loose ships from time to time, you should be able to buy a new ship for it)

2.) Don't trust anybody you don't know in real life at start (trust must be earned, specially in EVE. EVE is a cold and harsh enviroment where theft, scamming and grieving is allowed, so build up trust and just don't jump into anything).

3.) If it sounds too good to be true, it is (Like before scamming is allowed in EVE, so loads of people make a living just by scamming others. When you buy stuff from contract / direct trades, always read the stuff twice and then 1 more time to make sure you didn't miss anything, look at the destription of what you are buying and check at which price you are buying it.)

Anything else, just have fun, do what you like and as long as you think before you do, you should be fine.

If you have any questions, don't be affraid to open a conversation or EVEmail me.

Oh yeah, forgot the other thing (if you're still watching this thread):
Doing the first Sisters of EVE epic arc of missions is recommended. It's fun, it takes you through the space of all four races, and it gives you a wide variety of game experience. Plus some decent loot of course. It's kind of considered a rite of passage for new players, or at least used to be.

Great place to look for an overview of nearly everything in EVE: Industrial Sized Knowledgebase. It is a gorgeous free PDF you can browse offline (I donated, as it was worth it).

Things I cannot live without in EVE are:
1. EVEmon = character monitor and skill / attribute planner.
2. EVE Fitting Tool (EFT) = ship fitting and evaluation tool (works well with EVEmon).
3. Aura for Android (available on the Android Market).
You'll need an Full Access API key (don't share with others or use on websites!) to import your character info and use all the features.
