Beware of buying cheap laser pointers

Just read this bit from NIST

Lack of an IR filter and cheap materials for frequency doubling!

In case you don't know, laser pointers are supposed to be a minor risk even at long exposures directly into the eye (not advisable of course). However, powers at this level could lead to permanent eye damage through direct contact, reflection or if you standing close to a diffuse surface (next to a screen where the laser is being pointed).

Just as a warning in case you have one or work near them.

20 mW = 0.02 of a Watt.

From Wikipedia:
"Milliwatt

The milliwatt is equal to one thousandth (10−3) of a watt. A typical laser pointer outputs about five milliwatts of light power, whereas a typical hearing aid for people consumes less than one milliwatt.[4]"
