Instead of whining about incursions

Mifume, you are missing one point about the Imperial navy heavy neut - it is useless for Incursions, and is hence not being bought by the incursion bears to pimp their rides. Supply and demand for items does not relate entirely to the volume of ISK lying about in the economy; just because everyone is richer (or the elite are richer) does not mean everything goes up in price.

Frankly the only people buying faction heavy neuts are Bhaalgorn and black ops pilots and cap pilots. We will see whether the supercap changes result in more cap death, and see what happens with the big nullsec wars in terms of carriers being popped. If there's a big apocalyptic nullsec battle, when these caps and supercaps get round to being replaced we will see the demand pick up in heavy neuts.

The faction items which have got more expensive in price are;
- RF TP's
- Navy webs (no longer 60M like when I were a boy)
- Navy TC's (to a small extent, the pirate faction ones are off the chart)
- Navy heatsinks, gyros, magstabs, BCU's

Basically anything which you have to buy to pimp your ride to a stupid level so you can actually get into a blitz fleet. And yes, I do admit only a few sites can be blitzed. But these are the ones which are run like mad...and the un-blitzable ones are left for the people who can't comp sites efficiently. Poor sods need to buy more nightmares and fit IN heatsinks!

There have also been rises in the prices of Lokis and Proteuses, the decryptors which go toward their research, and the gas products which go towards their manufacture. This is because your incursion bear fleets like long-range webs and 90% webs, and thus demand for them has gone up significantly.

Just my observations.

It was a presentation at Fan-Fest where CCP Screegs talked about it. I CBA to find the actual presentation, but here is a thread on another forum about it: http://tinyurl.com/8ynpm7u

The unpopular items for incursions stayed the same or dropped ever so slightly and the popular incursion stuff went up a little. Who woulda thunk it?Roll

Once again, if there is inflation, why is it not reflected in non-incursion (but still extremely popular!) ships and modules?

Loki prices were 240ish (bare hull) in Jan 11, by Jun 11 had DROPPED to 180ish and are currently at 238M, coming down after a brief spike.

This is nothing at all like inflation. This is market forces driving prices of certain modules, relative to others.

edit: and a Proteus doesn't get a 90% web.

I just remembered the agent quality change, with every agent giving out max LP. Perhaps that had an effect on the LP stores?

if you have 1 account with a good ship
Incursions give most isk
If you have 2 accounts both with good ships
Incursions give most isk
If you have 3 accounts, two good ships one noctis
lvl4 missions give most isk.

The major difference is that the incursions give direct isk whilst missions have a lot of isk in salvage/loot that you have to liquidate.

That is comparison between faming incursions and completely running lvl4s (kill all salvage/loot all)
Now add some blitzing to that and i dont know, lvl4s can beat incursions if you get a good streak of missions on one char. However as someone said, the incursions are like a clockwork. They give the very same isk every ten minute tick.

The agent quality change certainly didn't help LP values but I don't think the impact was that big. Everyone was already using Q15+ agents, so it just isn't that big of a change other than making more agents viable. In fact the only sizable change was with lvl5's and FW missions. FW missions basically gained 5k LP per mission (24-25k went to 28-30k LP) and lvl5's went from 80k LP to 100k LP.

That change did have a pretty immediate effect on LP values, there was a sudden spike in items. But it was a small spike. There aren't vast numbers of lvl5 runners and they aren't farmed like lvl4's or incursions. FW mission runners aren't any more common. More people run them of course, but they aren't really farmed these days. Most people go out and run a batch maybe once a week and that's about it. And believe me, I know a thing or two about FW missions and those that run them.

In any case, as pointed out above, the popular incursion faction mods (faction webs, damage and resistance mods) have shot up in price while the popular pvp faction mods that are not used in pve have generally gone down (points, neuts, smartbombs...). And even though those popular incursion faction mods have gone up in price, the isk/LP values have gone down for them. The reason is the tags and parts required to make them have become much more expensive. It's a combination of more LP floating around and less tags to cash it in.

well as long as you aren't bleating about some crazy-as-**** version of inflation that doesnt actually raise the price of common goods

v0v

also: there are a lot of dudes farming the absolute **** out of L5s with carriers/supers now that im no longer around to casually leave probes in their system and my bridge titan logged in 23/7
