And please don't say "its only a game".

When people have had enough booze, and some says "Goons rock", or "I am Darius III", surely some drunk in the bar stands up and says "I hate Goons", and takes a swing.

Or is it because the griefers keep a low profile during Fanfest.

The thing about internet tough guys is that they're only tough guys when they're on the internet.

Best post in this thread.

ahhh, yet another goon rage post

but in answer to your question,

1. determine if you have enough friends to support you
2. Join goonswarm federation
3. Pay the fee to enter the political wing of GSF
4. caress mittin's posterior with your soft pubbie lips

I can't tell you how many times I've given my address and other contact information to some disgruntled Internet Tough Guy over the course of the past dozen years or so, and so far nothing ill has come of it.

Not necessarily true. Prior to finalizing my choice to run for CSM this cycle, I of course ran the idea past the directorate; but, despite the fact that I am not endorsed as one of our coalition's candidates I am still running. And if my position as the most popularly "liked" player in EVE Online is anything to show for it, I will be able to build a campaign platform around the same sorts of statements which have garnered me all those "likes".

I don't know you and I don't even come exactly from your alliance (quite the opposite).

But the stuff of yours I have read seems quite sound. Much more than some others, proclaiming sweetener carebear things they won't actually do, or others who sounds total jerks / with nasty mentality "because I can".

We could use a CSM member that is neither a known jerk nor a complete bear and has still a positive / constructive yet "pew pew" attitude.

The CSM is another meta gaming tool. And as usual CCP allows these tools to work their little magic until it get exploited a bit too much. CSM 6 managed to pass that point by far.

And yes, I credit none of the change of direction for CCP to the CSM. On the contrary, it just highlighted how little value the CSM have for the wider player community and I hope to see this institution shut down or radically changed in the near future.

I invite you to play any of the terrible MMOs out there, where you NEVER get a dev to post, you NEVER get any feedback, any response. You are just a sitting sheep along with thousands others, the deciding heads will never hear any of your concerns.

While CCP are much more communicative than the average MMO devs, having a CSM who can hear and let trickle out information is a positive thing. Furthermore CSM even with their low powers can at least *talk* with someone at CCP and have the playerbase concerns heard. Of course every CSM member will have their ideas, agendas etc. but having a little power "institution" is still better than the fat nothing you get in the other games.

I've never claimed to be a tough guy either on the internet or in real life. I'm pretty much a big softy :3

e: I guess I did offer a jelly wrestling contest to that guy from BLAST who said he was going to go to Fanfest just to beat up goons but he never showed up.

Every time you post a WiS thread, Hilmar strangles a kitten.
