I know it's been a while since they've been out but I still think they look amazing and would like to thank all the CCP members that worked on this, they really did a great job.

A little fun fact: Certain stars in the background are actually neighboring systems, when you go to a stargate, align your camera with where you would be jumping and there will be a bright star where the beam of light from warping hits.

Yeah, the universe actually feels like you're traveling through different systems now instead of the same background for every system in a region just with different names and gates that only point one direction. It was indeed a very nice change.

Also, good job finding the right forum. Cool

you prob wanted to say jumping not warping

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

Granted the artwork is great but they suffer from compression. CCP give us a "Premium" client which is a bit larger but has moar shinies.

I drain ducks of their moisture for sustenance.

actually you can see entire constellations, not just the star your jumping too.. note the positions of stars nearby the ones gateflash points to and how they change as you jump through systems.

also note the subtle changes to the nebula as you jump from system to system in a region -- they are 3d objects and every system seems to have a slightly differant relative position to the nebula, so the viewing angle changes a bit

kudos CCP, looks fantastic and job well done.

The new nebulae look fantastic.

Having returning to EVE after a 14-month absence, I've noticed a lot of new eye candy. Many of the ships are looking spiffier than before (new textures/shaders?), such as the Helios, which used to look like a mangled green-and-white cow. The new warp effect is nice. I swear there's something different about gates now, too.

I've had weird moments, like staring at a Gallente shuttle for thirty seconds and then thinking, "...Oh, didn't that used to be orange?"

Hopefully those race decals and the swapped-around textures on some ships mean we'll be getting corp/alliance decals and custom paint jobs sometime before I have grandchildren. Lol

The new thing about gates pointing in the right direction was described in this dev blog:

Some ships (Mainly Caldari & Gallente, AFAIK) have had their textures updated. I don't know about shaders, since the patch-notes for Crucible were over nine kiloreaders long it might have eluded me.

And conversely, a "Premium Lite 2.0" client for some of us who don't yet have the time/money to upgrade our rigs!

That said, good on CCP, they did a great job on this latest graphics revamp...It really does feel like you're travelling, in space, now. (I do miss some aspects of the classic graphics, though--and could you please re-invent the damned Overview, already, kthxbai.)

Have to agree. With what I've seen the Nebulas are quite awesome. I did find at least one that seemed a bit odd due to color shift over the Nebula mass being very drastic, but still cool. I have to wonder though: What is providing the illumination in those Nebula? There doesn't actually appear to be a source; but that is actually the only inconsistency I really noticed.

Overall: Very awesome and appreciated.

I like that the star gate now point to were your going.
And nebula make your home space feel like home.

They did a great job.

The concept of the nebulae are nice, but it does feel clunky sometimes. It's especially clunky when you warp 50AU above a starsystem to a gate to find that it's pointing at a star that is behind you. Or you're travelling from Amarr to Jita and notice that now you're warping towards the Galente nebula... CCP lovingly generated New Eden by a random process, so the process of travelling is always going to be random.

But why can I see the Jovian nebula from Vale of the Silent and Venal, but I can't see it from Geminate?

Also Cloud ring fills the sky when you're in Placid (or verge I an't remember) and when you're in Outer Ring, but I can't even see it in the distance from Fountain.

I hope one day CCP decide to make it so that the skybox is procedurally generated for every individual starystem.
