Will EVE finally draw me in? - 60 day trial key request

After various of trials the past 5 years I've finally committed myself to immerse in the vast empty space of EVE Online.

The lack of depth, innovation, excitement and socializing in recent MMO's had me thinking each time I quit one of those "Why couldn't I just get into EVE? Why doesn't it 'click' and hold my attention?". Yes.. I was one of those players that always regretted not getting into EVE Online. I admired it for the community, the depth, the PvP excitement and the 403 pages ISK Vol 1 guide.

Perhaps the infamous learning curve turned me off even though I'm an eager and willing to learn kind of person. Or were the tutorials to blame, not enough information for the newbies to really get started? Nope, don't think so. Of course improving the tutorials helps the players up to a certain point but it already gave me plenty of hints of how to get the most out of EVE Online, I just blatantly ignored them.

Recently, from evaluating my ingame actions to reading countless of topics on the forums I've come to the conclusion that I was "playing this game wrong...". I wanted too much, too fast, and I wanted all on my own while playing it safe. It's a habit of playing games that allows you to obtain all these things without too much effort. They make you feel the hero while in fact you're just following a narrow road that the creators laid out for you, how cleverly disguised it may be. Whatever you did didn't really matter, it had no consequences for the game or your surroundings. It's fun for a while, until you understand the concept and grow tired of it.

I want more interaction, more meaning to a game and most of all a long term experience where things matter. So I chose EVE Online once again, the game I always regretted not getting into. A game with enough tools to put me in charge instead of the creators.

So how am I so confident it will 'click' this time?
I've set three goals that will help me get to know EVE beyond my trial experiences:

1. Obtain a Rifter and fit it for PvP (with the required skills)
2. Get myself involved in PvP as fast as possible up to a point to get rid of the fear to lose my ship
3. Apply to EVE University and involve myself in the community

I'm normally not the type of person to jump in the action asap without a lot of reading and analyzing (and by a lot, I mean a lot), but I feel it's needed to truly understand how EVE 'works'.

I won't stop playing until I've reached those three goals and will probably need all the help I can get to keep me going afterwards.

So here I am, asking for someone to understand and help me out with a 60 day trial key. It will at least give me enough breathing space to reach those three goals without the constant pressure of trial time running out.

Even if this game just isn't for me in the end, I’ll be able to leave without the regrets that I have now.

I hope my post was any help to others out there feeling the same way.
