The eve fitting tool and eve hq allow us to test fittings tweak numbers etc.

I was given a HUGE no for suggesting that the SISI server allow players to try out all skills and I can understand why....

However, I still think it would be nice to see the depth and richness of eve online even if I don't have 80 million SP (I'm at 40 currently and 2 years into the game).

So, what I would like to try to suggest is allow a simulator that runs locally on our machine separate from the server. It has one constellation, not the entire eve universe and it's a true sandbox editor. I can setup spawns, fly ships, set security level of the system etc etc.

Eve claims to be a sandbox game but only if you have enough skills to play with ALL the sand. Even if I can fly ALL Caldari ships I would still like to try Amarr, Minmatar , Gallente, hell even Jove!

I can't wait another 8 years to fly all the ships and I would like to try em all, hey it's not my fault you made such a rich and deep game that I'm interested in all of it, and not just ONE maybe two factions.

Every day in every way I improve my skills and get better.

This idea is just totally...

actually, +1. I think its a good idea. Would make a great training tool for corps and new pilots both.

+1 but you have to add a skill book to run the simulator..... 100 million skill points required.

I think you're misunderstanding 'Sandbox' in terms of MMORPGs, but your idea isn't bad if it doesn't take up too much Dev time to create.

I like it. One static system, all mods, implants, ships, equipment, npc types. good way to test stuff out imho. I think a lot of different fits could come out of this.
