As i was cruising around in my pod (by choice) I realized something.
Nearly everything in this game is racial...why aren't pods?
I'm not saying they need bonuses or whatever, but i mean looks wise, It would be something interesting to look into.

Any thoughts?

Why? There's no need for it other than "it might look cool". From a RP standpoint it can be explained by one particular company having a monopoly on the market.

Pod technology was given to all the races by the Jovians.
Thats why they are the same....


I think.

Because pods are a Jovian design. And thats why they don't look like any of the race's.

How I see a POD:

You are a commander that controls a large ship.
You are in a POD inside a Large Ship
You Control your ship with Mind Control using the POD
POD's can fit in EVERY ship

Key being the later point,
If a POD is to fit in every ship, then all pods need to be same shape and size, therefore universal plug in for all Race's of Ships


It could be said that each Ship has a special enclosure that will hold a certain size of POD, and any shape.
But that has to be clarified :)
