Upcoming nerf to Mining Mindlink II modules

Has anybody heard how bad this one will be in the patch??Big smile

Would prefer loss of range over loss of cycle time.

What nerf?

(...or is this some underhanded way to try and and drive down the price of the implant on the market? If so, I approve this fine example of market PvP)

I think he means the warfare modules, not the minlinks since there are not minlink II's

I thought this at first, but it's significant when you have Mining Director 5.

I'll take a boost, no matter how small, over a nerf any day.

Tech 1 - Current 4.5%
Max Orca: 4.5% * 5 * (1 + 5 * 0.1) * (1 + 5 * 0.03) * 1.5 = 58.2% [23,732 m]
Max Rorqual: 4.5% * 5 * (1 + 5 * 0.1) * (1 + 5 * 0.1) * 1.5 = 75.9% [26,390 m]

Tech 2 - Current 5%
Max Orca: 5% * 5 * (1 + 5 * 0.1) * (1 + 5 * 0.03) * 1.5 = 64.6% [24,703 m]
Max Rorqual: 5% * 5 * (1 + 5 * 0.1) * (1 + 5 * 0.1) * 1.5 = 84.4% [27,656 m]

Tech 2 - After Buff 5.625%
Max Orca: 5.625% * 5 * (1 + 5 * 0.1) * (1 + 5 * 0.03) * 1.5 = 72.7% [25,916 m]

The "nerf" is that instead of doing :ccp: math and just adding 0.5% to the effect, they went back and did real math which adds 25% to the effect on all of the gang links.

T1 vs Old vs New

2.0% -> 2.5% -> 2.5%
3.0% -> 3.5% -> 3.75%
4.0% -> 4.5% -> 5.625%

The 2% bonus links were fine, the 3% and 4% bonus links had gotten the short end of the stick.

Changing the Survey skill from a 5% reduction in scan speed to a 5% increase in range would accomplish that at Level IV, and make the skill much more useful to the majority of people.

I've always thought it was one of the more useless skills for mining. The pirates and gankers that hang out around Jita might disagree for their work, but then they might enjoy an increase in range as well.
