The story finally made slashdot: http://hardware.slashdot.org/story/12/01/15/0226219/can-nasa-warm-cold-fusion

People can "get in at the start" on this miracle by investing small fortunes and they'll receive continuous updates over the next 10 to 20 years how the device is close to manufacturing, and how nefarious powers are trying to "suppress" the device, and how Mr Rossi's eventual prosecution for fraud is all part of this conspiracy to silence him.

Title: Cold Fusion
Quote:
Such claims are not unrealistic. Consider what they did to the original researchers. Way beyond what was required to disprove a theory. They had to utterly destroy two fine individuals, not just their theory. This was a coordinated response from the entire scientific community.

It isn't too hard to see how irrational the response was to the initial claims of Cold Fusion. Instead of firing the imagination, it got the attention of bean counters at M.I.T. who saw such a direction destroying billions of potential dollars in Hot Fusion tech research. M.I.T. lead the way to insure these sceintists would never have any theory ever published again, and anyone who would dare challenge HOT fusion would be destroyed, not just disproven.

I believe, Cold Fusion exists from looking at the research, which refuses to die. But there are very powerful ineterests in OIL and ridiculous HOT fusion approach which is nothing but a black sink hole of money, which hasn't produced any results in over 50 years.

Ultimately we are going to pay a price for our Greed. Which you can see from research to banking to food and how obese people are.

The price will be whether we continue to exist as a species.

Over the past 100 thousand years of civilization we have had plenty of opportunities to stop and correct this behavior.

We continue to refuse.

The conspiracy angle doesn't work because people with the same interests are shutting them down. If you google the guy's name you get a popular vid demonstrating his tech that his supporters love... the guy who was there and MADE THAT VIDEO even says it's bullshit.

The key point for anyone on Rossi though should really be the fact that his 'secret' infused device WORKS.

In R&D when you're worried about someone stealing your work it's during the DEVELOPMENT of your invention. Once it works you should be yelling from the rooftops. Begging for TV spots. Knocking on the doors of journalists for your field. Your life ceases to be secret science and becomes nothing but trying to force exactly how your system works down the throat of your audience.

If he wanted money he'd have business dealings. Contract, patent, trade secret, etc. If he wanted recognition he'd have published a paper outlining EXACTLY how it works and his name would be all over the news. If he wanted to help mankind his design would be all over the internet and available to anyone.

But no, we have a guy who says he's sitting on a game changing piece of tech that does what all of science is skeptical about and he is not doing anything at all with it? Just keeping it to himself? Has he just got a fetish for making steam and too high an electric bill or something?

i won't hold my breath, we should see the first fusion reactor in the next 15 years which will essentially be unlimited energy.

after that i would say mine the moon for gases to make fuel cells for cars and we are set for the next 50 years ( pretty sure the moon's gases get replenished by the sun")

i'm looking forward to the further r&d of helium 3 as well.

back to rossi however. one of the bullsh!t keys for me in all this is the construction of the units themselves. for a steam generating unit, it's remarkably poorly constructed. plastic buckets? rusted shipping container? inbound extension cord from the garage that 'doesn't do anything'? the ol' black box? that if fusion were actually taking place the ejection of a neutron or proton from an unshielded unit like this would be readily seen on detectors and actively looked for?

is a part of being a 'observer' also mean you need to be blindfolded the entire time while an assistant of his whispers what's happening in your ear?

if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and swims like a duck.... it's probably a duckbilled platypus.
