Most ice miners are bots! *SHOCK* (not really...)

I don't understand why you feel like you need to validate what you are doing in the name of harming bot miners. Its pretty obvious from many of your posts you are simply just destroying industry ships regardless if they are botting or players.

If you were putting 1/2 the effort into efficiently and effectively targeting bots as you were responding to people in this forum than maybe something good would come out of this and some damage could be done to the people who continue to screw everyone over. But with the current "system" you and your friends are using is simply making more of these bastards. Because every time you kill an actual player (who is most likely inexperienced, fairly new, and can't afford losing everything) you give botters more of an excuse to create more accounts (less miners means more demand, so more bots).

You want to target bots and not just continue to use this lame excuse to just to target industry? Then get more active if you think its a problem then simply destroying every mining ship you see.

  • Why are there no sites / tools / lists of known bot accounts? When an account is confirmed to be a bot it's added to the list and other players are encouraged to add these players to their contacts as hostile. This way whenever anyone sees them their ship gets destroyed. Killing a bot every week or two isn't going to stop the player from botting. All you will do is cause them to make a little bit less isk for that week. But if the bot was known to hundreds of other players he would get podded before he could even make it to a belt.

  • Why not have a channel where people can post sightings of known bots? How great would it be to have 2 dozen people all racing off to the same system to be the one to take the bot down?

  • Also as a miner I myself would post in a botting channel if I were to personally see a bot in a belt, since the only thing worst then gankers are bots.

  • Target corps / alliances that harbor or use bots. If a corp is running 1 or several bots chances are they are the ones making all the isk, so why not make them pay a little. Make it so its not worth it form them to continue using them.

  • Those are just a few suggestions. But like I and others have said, you are doing noting to harm bot users, only the real players who are not cheating. If you really want to do do something productive and actually capable of harming these cheating pricks you have to do more than targeting all industry / mining ships. Hell it wouldn't even be difficult to setup, and after a few weeks you wouldn't be able to keep up with the number of bot sightings. And you know what? It would be a lot more fun.

    Hi there,

I know that Bot-Mining is a very controversial topic in Eve.

But let us take a look at the facts!

Yes, there a bots, bots that do mining, hauling, mission running and even trading!

I find it much more annoying that there are Null-sec bots in Ravens that autorat complete systems for millions of ISK
    bounties

If macroed correctly, they could even loot and salvage automatically with a 2nd char for even more profit

What I find even more dangerous are trading bots! They really ruin the prices for us all!!!!

But back to the mining bots.

Yes they do reduce the income for the miners that don't use macros.

    BUT!!!!
Due to the enormous amounts of ores and minerals the botters put on the market, they do all the buyers
a favor! They keep the mineral prices down and so the product prices lower as they would be if there were no botminers at all!
And by the way! Mining is boring and I can understand any one using a macro doing it! Or going afk or working on other things on the desktop.

So all these "EVIL" bot miners keep the prices for the ganking ships down.Thank you botties ;)

And let's be honest!! We all profit from low prices!

On the other hand, Hi-sec "botters" are not the problem. One should go and look into 0.0 Space! There is some serious bot mining going on! Corps there will count the timers, when NPCs respawn in mining belts and have Defense ships ready (they can be scripted too!!!) and whole fleets of Hulks will mine into dozens of orca bellies with no one sitting behind the keyboard!

So, if you are on a holy mission, go and annoy some russian bot mining corps, I would like to see you ans your mates getting blown off the Eve servers by the blasters of the bolsheviks!!! ;)

And seriously, if you were annoying someone by costing him losses of about 7 billion ISK, if he really were a serious botter and smart player, hr would offer 4 billion ISK to a merc Corp and never be molested by you and your mates!

The really annoying thing for me is not the bot miners! It's the gankers who carelessly waste a mining vessel and their own ships just to **** you off...

So, what is the consequence for all these real miners?

Never go mining alone! Have a corp or at least mates to form a fleet and have some fighter cover. Me and my mates had trouble with a few gankers and can flippers... Once!!! After podding three of them we had no more trouble for a long time!

Anyway, best way to mine is to find a dead-end system (cul-de-sac) with only one gate. Have someone watch the gate and target and convo every newcomer that doesn't fly a mining vessel. Tell them taht there is a corp mining action going on and that warping to a belt or approaching any corporate mining vessel will result in being instantly podded!
Have a cloaked covert Ops/Tackler sitting in range in the belt's Warp-in point and blast right away if u don't care losing a ship to CONCORD or wait for the first salvo and blast away then!!

And cans should always be dropped by the fighter cover, not by the mining ships...

And yes, always leave a F U! Button in these cans!!! Like our little ganker said: Innovative Miners will always outthink noobish gankers!!

And always save enough money to hire mercs to get rid of p

    tl;dr

Ganker dipping his toes in the RP arena, trying to justify his ganking with something the community is clearly against and CCP isn't.

"Breaking" bots hinders CPP's ability to detect them.

Thanks for helping botters to escape detection.

What our good friend Ruby is referring to is the fact that the last post before yours was back in Feb. The term "necro" is used to define a person who brings a very dead thread back to life; as you have done with this one. For future reference, please let the dead rest in peace. Also, stop trolling.
