what hybrids and destroyer buff did

earlier i jumped in 0.0 and there was a cormorant at 100km,he locked me and start shooting.

heres the damage

11:39:17
Combat
150mm Railgun II belonging to megalow blackstar hits you, doing 201.3 damage.

150mm Railgun II belonging to megalow blackstar heavily hits you, inflicting 244.5 damage.

seems a little bit too much.

What were your resists? Signature radius? Transversal?
What was he fitting? How many magstabs? What quality?
What ammunition was he using?
What were his skills? Engineering 4 and Destroyer 2? Or something a little more impressive?

You've given us three data points. I may not be a huge fan of Hybrid ships, but even I'm not going to make a judgment on ground that shaky.

doesnt seem a bit too much for a destroyer to snipe for a ton of damage from 100km?

But damage always looks high if you have no resist and are sitting there.

Quickly slapping together some EFT numbers seems to show that to get those kinda hits on base resist at 100km needs a gimped fit (1x magstab, 2x TC, 2x SeBo... NOTHING else)

That nets 2.7s rof, 354 volly before resists/hit quality. Basically to do what happened to you a cormerant can do literally nothing else.

So no, thats not really unfair. Its like 100 dps at 100km. *gasp*. How shocking.

that pilot is not a cheater,ccp did the mistake of buffing hybrids too much.maybe people dont realize it yet but hybrids are overpowered.

The first response to your post asked for you to give specifics about the situation that the damage was done to you in but you refused to give it.

The more people question your story the more you argue their assertions with more aspects to your story that were not revealed before hand.

Just answer the first person's response to your original post and people here can better determine if what you are claiming "hybrids and destroyers buff is too strong" is in fact true.

Well one I see rail geddons Ill consider that statement. In the mean time Im far more conserned with them being underpowered.

I don't expect you to know what he was fitting and or his relevant skills, but you should know what you were doing and what you were fitting and your relevant skills.

By the speed you said you were going at I would assume you were using your microwarpdrive, did you approach him?


What was your fit?

These questions would help people understand your situation better.

The questions about the cormorant's fittings have already been speculated on by others in this thread.

A sniping destroyer fitted for sniping at the expense of everything else manages decent DPS vs a target that obviously has terrible kinetic resistance - and you see a problem with this?

He's lucky it wasn't a Tier3 BC.

There's nothing wrong with a max-skilled Cormorant hitting out to 100km with good damage. Particularly given, as others have pointed out, it can't do anything else when fitted to do so.

Besides, instead of MWD'ing towards it in a straight line did you try just warping out? Or did they also buff Destroyer point range by 4x.
