Hi,

Jack you know who you are, and you should be an inspiration to a lot of people.

I have recently gone through a transformation while not as extreme the journey has been a long one! I will use your example to keep me going.

Hope you find all that you are looking for!

For the people that dont know who i am talking about. Jack lost almost 12 stone in 12 months after curbing a terrible diet, low exercise, and a pc (eve) problem.

http://sky1.sky.com/obese-a-year-to-save-my-life/obese-a-year-to-save-my-life-jack-one-month-on

This is the link to the two minute one month on, however the full show will be availible in a few days.

Good luck man.

Not clicking that link. I'm guessing by transformation you mean sexual reorientation surgery? Sorry for your loss, ma'am.

Close. Someone starts out with breasts and loses them. P

must .... resist....

MOOOBIEEEEES!

Edit:
I don't get the pigging out while playing EvE. Drinking large amounts of rum I can understand. But how do you pig out with food while playing?

Or could this be due to me playing solo, and not ending up waiting for fleets, gate camping, getting camped into stations, etc?

Heck when I do a "crossing" I have to wake myself up.

I think that if you can pork yourself up while playing this game, you are probably playing it wrong or not playing it for real.

When I first started on MMOs I AFK downloaded Anarchy Online thinking it was a MUD. I thought it would be shareware when I saw the graphics (started as an opifex adventurer, while trying to be an elf ranger).
Had my organisation (guild / corp) started within a month and a half, it went on to be a good moderate success (scale of EWOKs for some perspective).
Anyone who has lead a group can tell you how much time it takes.
I was also swopping out an adrenalin addiction for an MMO one (I wouldn't have believed it if someone tried to just tell me about it, was an absurd idea.) Soon I was getting home from work on a Friday, playing through to 06:00 on a Sunday, grab a few hours of sleep then go back to bed at 22:00 so I could be functional for work on Monday. Did about four to five hours of gaming each night and sometimes a half hour in the mornings.

When Cucu died at her keyboard from lack of sleep and food, leaving behind a husband and two children, it hit me how real my own weight loss and tiredness was leading toward.
That was a moment, where I managed to step back from the brink.

I still read a great deal less, only about 40-50 books a year instead of the 150 - 250 that I was doing prior to gaming and I do play far too much still. One of the reasons for that, is that I have lead a very active and diverse life up until gaming and now I am "waiting for godo" because I don't really have anything new that I want to do, which will challenge me.

Not even once

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

Yeah, lost 12 stone, and I was going to refer him to my gravel driveway.

Seems to me people who sit staring at a screen pounding keys endlessly
while downing the huge bags of Doritos and Mountain Dew would be doing
the same thing if there was no EVE, or screen, or keyboard.

Telling people to get off their behinds and use their legs for something
other than trips to the fridge gets to be like reminding someone to inhale
and exhale. I now tend to be in the Scrooge school of thought about this.

"We need to cut down on the surplus population." Or, some such.

No, I'm not being cruel. It's just that there's so little clean air left, it's
irresponsible of someone to allow us to continue wasting our breath
telling someone something they have no intention of heeding.

What cures a lot of these people is that first heart-attack. I hear that's
the most painful thing one can experience. So, all you overeaters and
underexercisers out there, it's coming. Enjoy.

Paradise is like where you are right now, only much, much better.

Fast/junk food is designed to make you feel good. Plus, most of it is just carbs, so it's digested quickly and you're hungry for more.

The guy from "Super-Size Me" who ate nothing but McDonalds food for a month noticed that his overall mood got worse/negative, but that he cheered up when eating the food.

And yeah, it doesn't help that a lot of Eve can be "hurry up and wait."
