The usernames in the login screen must be saved somewhere in a file.
Due to several trial-accounts I have a large number of names saved somewhere so I have to scroll and select each time I log in. Sometimes I get mixed up. Does someone know where those names are saved and if old entrys can be deleted.

From what I remember they are saved in a data file that you can open in a hex editor.

Try opening manifest.dat and look for your chars.

It is not the manifest.dat.

You will find the file keeping those names within the client side "settings" folder on your machine (check this EVElopedia-Aritcle on where to find it on your machine).

In there, you are looking for the file "core_public__.dat", which contains that bit of information among other settings that are not tied to an account or character and would be needed before anyone logs in, so expect some other bits than the user list resetting to default when removing this file (i.e. the window resolution for the client).
