Any up-to-date stealth hunting/bomber guides? (any advice welcome too!)

I'm fairly new to the game, but I have decided that being a covert ops specialist is for me. While I can't quite fly a bomber just yet I am eager to learn more about how to utilize my future ship of choice. I have been roaming around lowsec for the last couple of weeks practicing evading gate camps in a frigate with a cloak and mwd, making bookmarks, and trying to scan whatever my mediocre skills will allow me to find (not much at this point).

So aside from the obvious question of if there is a current bomber guide, what kind of advice or practice would you experienced pilots suggest for an up and coming pilot looking to get into that line of work?

eve uni has a class recording downloadable online http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Eve_University_Class_Library they also provide training to members in many aspects of eve. There are also corps that specialize in stealth bombers, joining one of them is a good idea since unless you are soloing factional warfare missions stealth bombers work best in groups. Other then that google is you friend.

Google found me a bit of information, but it was quite a few years old. I assumed the game is regularly patched and that might not be the best source of info..

Depends. There was only one major change to bombers, and it should be easy to tell whether the guide is talking about the old bombers or the new bombers. They used to get minor bonuses to the use of normal cloaks, which don't allow cloaked warp, and they used cruise missiles. Now, they use torpedoes and covert ops cloaks.

As a general rule:

-Bombs work as anti-blob and disruption. Generally used in groups of bombers at the start of the fight to weaken.
-Torps do stupid (battlecruiser-level) amounts of damage against some targets. Battleships, pretty much. The fact that you're firing torpedoes will mean you will do less damage against battlecruisers, rather little against cuisers, and so pathetically little that you might as well not even bother firing against destroyers and frigates.
-They do so at ridiculous range. Base range of torps with max skills is 57km. With the right rigs and javelin torps you can get this up to 120km.. They are paper, though. Range is your tank.

They are damage boats for use in covert or frigate gangs, both of which usually have a major damage deficit.

they also work as good scouts. They're cheap, agile, and have covops cloaks.

...but for the love of all that is holy, unless you plan on sitting on nullsec gates and popping the occasional industrial, do not use them solo. They are bad, bad soloboats.

Thanks. And I do plan to join a like-minded corp, but I am waiting until I am actually bomber-ready to do it. Most of the covert corps seem to require that as a minimum anyhow. As for bagging haulers in nullsec solo, that actually sounds like a lot of fun. Twisted

Imagine that, losing ships in PvP, zomg I must be a newb.
I've lost bombers much more embarrasingly than that, it's funny that you picked those ones:

Ceptor, Dramiel, 300+ fleet fight.

Putting yourself in situations you don't know whether you'll win or not is the most fun part about PvP.
For me at least.

The second favourite thing of mine is going through peoples killboards, finding losses I can post and then use an alt to post it on the forum. I feel that it makes me... cool Cool

Stealth Bombers have a load of new targets thanks to the new tier 3 BC's. Pretty much any of them can be solo'd by a well fit bomber pilot. TBH they are the best targets out there for a bomber as none of them have drones and use large weapons and pretty much no one fits neuts on them. Even if some odd ball fits med guns they will never hit an ABing SB with a TD. Added bonus their tanks are pretty paper thin meaning you can kill them fast b4 help arrives.

Fit your self a scram & a tracking disruptor if you like then get in close and orbit and don't worry about using bombs. You can use either AB or MWD.. Don't worry about tank just go full EW & damage mods/rigs.

Best bait ship ever?

I agree with what you're saying, but seeing as how these are not solo mission ships and are meant to be used in gangs I'd tend to think if you found one alone, that isn't moving from one location to another likely has friends VERY close. Though, I'll concede that even having friends close, it will go down pretty fast, guess you're better off trying to kill one of these and get lucky that you kill it before someone arrives than other ships.

Note: My experience piloting a bomber or hunting as a bomber zero, just deductive logic so I may not be accounting for other things :P
